I would never have thought the ABS module would have caused these symptoms. But that’s why I am watching these videos instead of making them. Thanks, Eric!

It makes sense: one module that sends out crazy data on the databus can and often will disturb communication with other modules and therefore cause the ECU to report all kinds of errors.

When it comes to network communication, anything is possible. I had a radio control panel take down a whole buss on a 777 aircraft. It was supposed to be a recieve only from the Main computer to the Auto pilot, radios, radar etc. But we had a Control panel that had an error in it and it was feeding a signal back on the buss. Took me and 3 other techs the better part of 12 hours to find it.

It makes alot of sense. But it’s only that way cause I been turning wrenches for 23 years. Think of it as your body. If your toe is broke your whole body is affect. Same with cars with modules and computers

Are those things required for inspection in the US? We don't have them in the UK and if we did I'd be disabling the thing on any vehicle I got as they seem really annoying. They always seem to work on any modern vehicle in YT videos so I assume you're not allowed to not have them.

Yeah haven't yet seen unit(in EU) that you cant buy controller wo hydraulig part, but maybe Toyota has one.. But yes bleeders are great and what is even greater is that its getting more common for ABS module to leave break fluid pressure on some second longer on some lines then other. Witch makes leaving the lights fun! Example if front left and right rear are on and you accelerate q what happends ;)

Had problems with these back in the 90s on wrecked cars. Toyota tried to blow it off. But there was no exterior damage to them. Ins Co told them they were going to request a ruling from NHTSA for a recall. Suddenly Toyota started warranting them. lol Had the same problem with Hyundai on their mufflers and cat converters. Hyundai started paying for them too. It's always something.

Never buy a renault. We got it for a song because Electroinc E brake last year. Remade 40 joints under the seat. Last week weird cutting out issue, more bad electrics. Somebody been at the fuel pump and I got me a new fuel pump pliers tool they left behind. Just sitting there. they done the old rip tie hold her in job. I cut the fecker socket open and off and soldered that fecker. Golden now. I was amazed how long it would run with just fuel residue pressure with the pump off. almost a minute, and no codes whatsoever.
