Well said. Great job by the Captain I was on an American 767 out of LAX to Dallas years agog d we had an aborted takeoff. Obviously it was before V1, but it was late enough that it surprised me more than it would have had it been early on. Ironically it was also because of a sensor light that came on as we were in one takeoff roll

Flying out of Las Vegas to Detroit we had an aborted take off. Just before lift off the spoilers and thrust reverses came on. Everyone was flung forward held in seat by the belts. You could hear baggage thrown forward in the hold. Apparently sensors indicated a wind shear ahead so emergency procedures were activated.

A rejected takeoff is when the captain decides something is wrong and stops the takeoff. It can happen for many reasons, in this case, a light came on saying the L1 door was open.

They’d have to retrain their staff on the A321s. Maybe a 757 might be appropriate if they could fill it...but I get it’s high in fuel. Perhaps 739 could be helpful. I guess that’s why they went with Max’s.
@joefrazer93575 жыл бұрын
Jack Sycz, Jr i agree, if the max didnt have the failure their fleet would be new, but they wouldnt switch to the a321 neos because they would, like he said, have to retrain their staff. They are a budget airline and the reason they are is because once you train one pilot for a 737-700 they can fly the -800 and -900 with no other training. Also once the max is not grounded they will switch back
@zgaviation64815 жыл бұрын
@@danielonn2002 SWA would never do that....they'd have to retrain all of the pilots, as well as all of their flight attendants on the new planes just to be able to operate them.
