How hard building is an elevator in Space Engineers with no jetpack ... underground? Really!
We're playing Space Engineers with Permadeath turned on, Jet pack and Auto Heal turned off, and no 3rd person view. We're using daily needs survival kit...on Pertam, it's super dark, and the risk of failure is very high. Join me on the pain train.

Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it so far and it's going to keep getting better now that we're in full swing. Also, sp33d will be back.

Congratulations on the survival kit. You could build a ladder from the top as you dig a hole straight down. The floor of the elevator can connect to the side of the piston head, that way you can put a button planel and railings on top.

Good ideas! Thanks. I took a different route but I think you’ll like what I did.

1. I like the filler music and when you do it. 2. You can make every floor the same speed. If you utilize all 3 pistons for every floor, but it is gonna require some math. 3. You can utilize a welder to build it up faster. 4. I don't know what your upload schedule is, but I would like shorter time between episodes.

Thanks, that's very useful. I have a way to vary the piston speeds without needing to make significant changes to the way they trigger, so I'll introduce that next episode. I would like to be able to do more than one episode per week. At the moment it takes about 3 hours to record and 10 hours to fully edit each episode, and I also have a full time job. So I'll need to do some thinking about how to fit one more in per week. Thanks so much for the feedback 😀

Well sir your demeanor and professional cursive writing are great draws. It's a lack of chaos (think Capac) while building stuff. I dont yell at my TV the way you play and that says a lot in this game. As to other Ytubers Wellington6012 is a fav of mine. Small but highly talented

Loving the vids bit late to the party but I'm slowly catching up I like them because I'm picking up lots of tips and I like the length it's almost like other tubers seem to rush to get to the good stuff whilst cutting out the grind

What got me here, is there are a lot of the same content for space engineers but not a lot of straight play threws. I look for play threws with a host that doesn’t cuss or just say trash talk. So it’s hard to find with a lot of games. I really like everything you’re doing . The thinking and the music,I think you edit very well telling the story. I like your build style I think that plays a lot in games like this, the viewer has to like your builds. But most of all the stakes I think you have something going here like I know you were doing a 7 days to die but if you can make a perm death series on everything you do I think you have gold.

Thanks! I'm really enjoying making this series - been playing SE for so long now that I need ways to make it harder to keep it interesting for me. I think that is a big part of what makes the content different too. I appreciate that you look for good clean hosts. I think there's too much cussing for the sake of it on KZbin already. I'm not against curse words, they can be very useful for expression and story telling - in fact I'd classify my "2 idiots" series as definitely not suitable for minors for that reason (well mostly because of my co-host 🤣). For context, '2 idiots' is more story and role play based SE content, and in that, I don't censor language when it's appropriate to the characters or story. Like making a movie. My solo content will always be 99% clean.

@@Psy-Prime yeah I will definitely continue to watch you content thank you for the heads up for the other videos. When space engineers 2 comes out , hit the ground running with a long series. Have you thought of doing an empryion galactic survival play though like this? And this might help you out like a survey or pole of some sort to see what kind of people are watching.

@@BeEasyKlockwork I’ll definitely be hitting SE2 from the first opportunity. Maybe EG, I don’t own that one yet but never say never. I do have another early access game to cover… but you’ll find out about that soon. Thanks for the suggestions. 😎

@@BeEasyKlockwork I’ve been asked about discord a few times. It’s a tricky one for me - something I do want to do but it’ll require time to manage and I want to be sure there’s enough demand and engagement here first. We’re getting there.

Thanks! Definitely give it a shot. Besides the obvious like for tall bases, think about elevators for multi-level parking structures, or vehicle access to difficult areas.

Mai Gawd - glad it isn't just me - seeing a thing that could be useful in the trade list - then 'weeks later' turning up to the same trade point to discover that the thing you wanted wasn't rolled into the current list and they no longer wanted what you had on you. Haha. I'm not sure if it gets re-rolled upon session load or if it is frequency based on game time or distance travelled - it isn't static though. Seems the good-luck-gawds are nerfing your good fortune, after surviving your fall. Clang giveth, Clang takes away. I like the videos for the chill, fella - the lack of the unfortunately overly common and false "look at me" and "over-hype" is what keeps me here. Life is hectic enough, I do not need to watch someone repeatidly have some sort of autistic episode or sugar rush in my free time. No hate, nothing against autism, everyone has some form of trait of it - but the loud and overly excited stuff isn't for me. I prefer the cool, calm and calculated stuff that gets randomly interrupted by a situation (crash/spider/storm/airleak/fall/no silver/etc). I am old though. I think what sums it up for me, was that first spider encounter, you were 'shook' - we were 'shook' - everything was 'shook'. That crash, you were thinking 'oh b***ox' - we thought 'oh b***ox'. That fall, you were thinking 'faaaa-udge' - we were thinking 'mai gawd, thought he was worm food' - genuine gaming moments. Prime example (if you pardon the pun) was the water/fall in this episode - genuine compound situation. Another would be the 'I've noticed a problem' - insert investigations - 'I accidently over pistoned' - then 'I suffered the dumb' - followed by 'oh well, I can engineer past it' - perfect. No excessive drama. Keep being you fella, we are here for it. You are the only Uk space engineer I have found, for me that is a hefty bonus. More viewers/subs will come as time progresses. If you need to boost views or subs, maybe try a forum, reddit or steam post discussing the series? If i'm looking for some details, it is common to find information on games and series in at least one of those areas via google. Quite often, asking a question will get the most positive interactions from them. If positivity isn't required, say something wrong/false haha - you can see some right fire-dumpster posts. I'm kinda keen (pun intended) to learn if people watch space engineers, while they are playing space engineers - or if that is just me. Survival Kit objective - w00t - eleventy out of ten fella! Is it now we mention that putting a lift button panel near the respawn point could be a quality of life improvement? 🤗 Looking forwards to the next episode chap.

Excellent feedback 😀 Thank you! I'm not looking for the 'big time', so not willing to compromise to please the vast majority if it means being anything less than genuine. I am always open to ideas though - many heads being better than one of course. But story telling is what I'm here for above all else. I don't mind saying, and in the interest of promoting British Space Engineering, there's a few well established UK Space Engineers on YT. @CaptainJack and @LastStandGamers are particular standouts. Thank you again! Oh and puns very much appreciated 😃

@@Psy-Prime I will check them out chap. I forgot to add - the difficulty/challenge side of your series is also a big magnet for me - I have the same affliction for difficulty. If its a racing/flying/fps sim, I choose no ABS or traction control, no external views, no hud, no icons and certainly no automagically appearing ammo etc. I love the challenges. Space Engineers is probably the closest I get to an 'arcade' game - certainly one of the very few games I use a little HUD and a little air-leak-detection - however I am addicted to its problem solving. My only gripe is the lack of TrackIr support - despite my 'stevie wonder' impressions trying to move the camera, still, a decade later. Some habits are hard to break. I am fascinated to see how you deal with space without a Jetpack - I kinda worked round it, by making a remote controlled drone to collect my floating dumbness from the vast vacuum of space - I knew, as soon as I pressed the spacebar - that I had royally fudged up.

@@Chilled_Mackers haha we’re of similar minds there. When I play Star Citizen I fly with all assists turned off and Tobii eye tracker on. As for no jetpack space…. Our ideas on that are very likely to converge as there’s only so many options available. But prevention is always better. Time will tell!

@@Psy-Prime I've not tried Star Citizen, my PC is 2012 vintage haha. Yeah, any form of 'freedom of movement' is a good thing - totally changes the games. I think I still have some hurricane/spitfire combat sim videos up, not played that in a few years due to pc rigor mortis haha - slowly getting parts to build a new pc - taking ages, especially while rebuilding some cars etc. Fank Fark Space Engineers still works.
