Today we're taking the Hopper on it's first flight. Hopefully to space, but it's never flown in Pertam before, and well, it's me afterall....
We are playing Space Engineers with permadeath turned on, No jetpack and auto heal turned off. 3rd person view is gone and we're using daily needs survival kit...on Pertam. we have a darkness mod in and full weather & meteor storms turned on.... this is Space Engineers Hardcore Survival.

If you had used small Converter junctions, you could have added a lot more small hydrogen tanks.

Would a Mass block, be good at adding weight to the artificial horizon device? Also, having it locked, during transit could have been a wise choice. I thought that had a chance of working haha. On to the next episode!

I thought of that but on small grid the hinge physics kinda go into low priority mode when you’re more than 2 feet from the hinge. Bit of a damp squib.

lol interesting idea…. Would really be stretching the fuel use out though. I’ve got some equally interesting but bullet proof ideas to try.

Do you have the DLC with the searchlights? they make way better remote viewing / parking cameras. but they only go up and down, if you place them sideways or on the underside of a block the view is tricky. also they have lights, which helps for parking especially. Sometimes I play more role-friendly and choose not to use 3rd person so I like to stick the searchlights in above, behind, and usually slightly left of the ship's center on a thin little rod or scaffold or w/e basically like budget 3rd person

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I do have that DLC and kinda considered the searchlights. I have a turret on top of the hopper that gives a good view but for a larger ship I think the lights would be better for situational awareness. I’m also going to make parking sensors.

@@Psy-Prime mhmm the advantage w/ the lights is how small they are, they can be tucked away in clever spots!

If you are using the standard planetary system: GPS:Pertam:-3967231:-32231:-767231: Fly over a base, line up its marker with the centre of the planet

Little bit cheaty lol but I might have to resort to something like this. May have tunnel to the centre to be sure of the coords though… just for verification 😉😉😉
