CORRECTIONS: Just a couple of things - apologies, you can't used 'Master of the Vanguard' on dreadnoughts as they don't have the phobos keyword. Also Wulfen dreadnoughts don't get +2A on the charge, their murderlust is different to murderfang (wahapedia tripped me up on that one, sometimes they make errors with rules of the same name). It certainly makes vendreads compete with them in melee a little better without this... Thanks to krav, Nihls pihl and Andre vas an for pointing those out!

Great video. The lovely thing about Bjorn and Murderfang is they get a whopping 6" Heroic Intervention. There have been a couple of times when I have managed to heroically intervene on a model that charged me and zip around his base to get out of combat with a second unit. You can then fight them one at a time (consolidate, fight again strat, pile in will get you back in combat) Wolves have so much movement it's crazy!

Looking in the codex, wulfen dreadnoughts have murderlust, same as Murderfang, but they dont get +2A on charge, only reroll failed charge rolls

You missed that ven dreads also have smoke launchers, which are pretty useful on an axe/shield dread since you can move, advance, fire smoke launchers and then be - 1 to be hit as well as having a 4+ invuln and 6+ FNP.

The core of my army consists of Bjorn and a Chaplain dread, Murderfang. 2 wulfen dreads with axe and shield. and now 2 redmeptor dreads. all advancing up the middle. I usually run three intercessor squads with them. some fenresian wolves as cheap screens.. and then some eliminators and supressors to back them up. removing overwatch from units is just too good... long fangs for heavy support means the enemy needs to split fire to deal with them. a termie with shield to tanks shots here helps. I bounce a few things in and out... and am debating agressors as another threat unit... but that's my core of my 2000 points list.

Sounds incredibly fun. Love dreads, and that's a lot of dreads. Do you use a 3d HQ for a vanguard detachment for the other dreads?

@@sevithan9446 usually the 3rd HQ is an ironpriest for heals on the dreads. it is fun. and it forces them to pick targets. as ignoring any part can cause big issues. ive been tempted with how cheap wulfen dreads are to run a third... have them and murderfang in their own detachment with the ironpriest. and then bjorn and the chaplain dread leading the batallion. honestly I could go 2 spearheads, go a phobos lord to sit with the heavy support... ill have to think on it more.

@@mrdraken87 Sounds like plan. Speaking of the Iron Priest, I saw one on a Thunder Wolf get badly underestimated once and he wrecked havoc on the enemy backline. Tempest Hammer is still less than half the price of a HQ Thunder Hammer with a 1/6 chance for a mortal wound, and the Helfrost Pistol is cheap too. On the charge, that's 4 hammer attacks, one servo arm and the pistol shot. That's 6 Str 8 attacks, 5 at AP-2/3 for 3 damage with +1 to hit, and one with AP-4 at 1d3 damage at BS3. And then the wolf gets 3 more attacks. That's pretty good for "just a Techmarine!"

Great job as always! But I have to say that the -1 to hit of the Fenrisian great axe is not very relevant thanks to the Space Wolves +1 to hit when charges or gets charged, in my opinion than the standard weapon or the wolf claw

Nice. Thanks. I like the murderfang. Feels like the melee damage output per pt must be very high for a dread? Certainly more so than BA dreads, and with its character key word giving it a chance to get into combat

Another fantastic video for my favorite army! One small thing to point out though is the rerolling charges, both Wulfen and Ragnar can't reroll charges for dreadnoughts. Wulfen only affect infantry, bikers, and cavalry. Ragnar only affects non vehicle units. Keep up the good work! For Russ!

the two characters dread outshine other dread usually. But if i had to take one to screen or something the wulfen dread with claw ( to still hit on 2s when charging and saving points ) and a shield being faster and better at charging. By the way the way it's worded, the great wolf claw arm seems to be kited with a storm bolter making him 102pts and not 100. But it's not much.

My current combat patrol: njal stormcaller warlord, bjorn with multi-melta, 9 primaris intercessers with autobolters. Njal takes stormcaller, tempests wrath, and murderous hurricane, then make use of cloaked by the storm. 👌

When you make a Long Fangs video, would you include a section on how to modify the Devastator Drop Pod combo to maximize the increased options (i.e. stratagems and the optional Wolf Guard babysitter with Storm Shield)? I don’t believe space wolves can take Grav, so it’s a pretty big modification.

Ven Dreads can't take the Great Wolf Claw, only the Axe. At least not with the shield. It is a shame, because the shield is why I take them! Also, I think the smoke launcher on the ven dread is underestimated. Mine want to advance up in front of my character Dreads, protecting them, so they don't care about shooting that first turn. Plus, so many people want to shoot at them first, that -1 to hit combined with a tune priest giving cover, plus another -1 from the stratagem makes them insanely durable that first turn.

Space Wolves list building is really simple these days. Slamdunk Björn, Murderfang, 30 wulfen and 15 Incursors. That is basically what Wolves would want to do. The other HQ should be something to support the dreads

Dan McDonough interesting idea, nothing says you can't rules as written but I think they have said he can't be your warlord for both fluffy reasons and competitive ones. This combo would be incredibly powerful. As written you can play it.

I think as he is regarded as your warlord for the stratagem, it's not possible, but one could argue about the wording
