Another brilliant video. A good build is 3 normal gh with bolter and chainsword. Pack leader the same. Special weapon gh with plasma gun and chainsword. Wolf guard PL with Combi plasma and chainsword. 96 points with plenty of fire power and a decent melee output.

Putting plasma on them and keeping them by Bjorn to reroll ones seems good.

I almost exclusivly run them in packs of 5 to save points for wulfen, thunderwolves, or wolfguard termies. I usually just use them to grab objectives and fill batallions.

This is so helpful! I was watching some of your other space marine units videos and hoping desperately for more space wolf specific videos. I’m starting to notice there’s a pretty wide gap between us and the codex compliant chapters.

Hey Auspex, would you be able to do a video on Ork Nob Warbikers? Are they any good now that they have the strat for +1 strength? I figure it might make a "cheap" and cheerful slugga choppa loadout a viable choice, or maybe going for big choppas for a bit more punch while keeping the price down compared to power klawz.

I do like outflanking them with a terminator wgpl. Works well with combat doctrines, safe turn 1, arrive with tactical doctrine for extra ap rapid fire turn 2 then charge turn 3 for extra ap choppa abd super doctrine

I tend to use a pack or two when gauging how much fire power I need. Speaking from experience, a plasma gun and the Terminator with storm shield + storm bolter has kept them alive longer, much to the annoyance of my opponent, and allowed more firepower to be diverted to them to wipe them off the board. They're great at holding backline objectives. They don't put out as much damage as intercessors but have come in clutch as an extremely reliable unit for my list.

@@Johnnodonoughue I've always struggled with that. Since I pour most of the bolter fire and 0 and high AP shots into the termie, he tends to die first. I'll let a few grey hunters fall to absurdly high AP before the termie since I can choose who gets wounded but once he accrues a would it's only a matter of time before he gets blasted. Lone wolf on a wolf guard Terminator for blood claws sounds like an amazing thing to try as well They get that extra hit and it's brutal.

@@davidleyva916 now you can play "fury of champions" you can kill any character (get one CP back) on the charge in the game (except ghazkull) also stick a cyclone on your long fang terminator ... un targetable missile launcher, with all rerolls. Brutal

Just built a squad of grey wolf's having trouble on the ruling on the weapons so if u have a unit of ten is it ok for two of them to have plasma guns and one to have a bolt pistol/power fist while the rest have bolt guns

Yes you can. Two can have plasma guns as you are allowed one special weapon on a grey hunter per 5 models. Assuming the power fist is on the grey hunter pack leader, he would have a boltgun, bolt pistol and a power fist as he takes it in addition to those, but does give up his chainsword.

You must take a terminator wolf guard with thunder hammer and storm shield. By the time its end game you should be able to lone wolf them and with assault doctrine late game with character command point farming .... deadly

Your evaluation of the Grey Hunters is certainly fair.... What is NOT fair is how SW Primaris Marines have NO weapon options, not even the Pack Leaders. Primairs have ZERO SW flavor. Even the ability to give Infiltrators or Intercessors all chain swords or the Pack Leader a Frost Weapon... you know, to Space Wolf them up! Of course, what would be cool, and maybe OP, is if Intercessors,/Infiltrators etc could upgrade to a "Wolf Guard Pack Leader" In Aggressor Armor.

But then you really just start to push grey hunters off the table as a viable option if the primaris can get down and dirty with melee as much as the rest. I like my primaris squads because they bring a bit more tactical firepower. A 5 man intercessor squad can hold an objective long enough for reinforcements, eliminators can reach out and touch the psyker troops or characters if need be, inceptors are good to drop down whenever you need to blister some earth right there, right now. But they function as a complimentary half to the space wolves, so I kind of like that they don't take any of the niches provided by the largely CQC focused army. But I agree, it would be awesome to switch out the intercessor sergeants power sword with a frost sword, but I'd say don't let the whole squad take chainswords because then they start eating their battle brothers' lunch, you know?

I disagree that grey hunters are better than blood claws. For shooting, sure. But if I were taking grey hunters for shooting, I may as well take intercessors. Blood claws get an additional attack on charge over Grey hunters and have a slew of stratagem support that grey hunters do not have (overwhelming impetuosity, stalker pack stratagems, etc) All in all I honestly believe grey hunters are the weakest troop SWs have now. This is my personal opinion but I just don’t see a situation where I would want grey hunters over incursors/intercessors/blood claws

Being able to do something more during turn 2 gives them a bit of a better edge. Sure BC is better on the charge, but having a more versatile unit is normally better in your list.

@@BIFInvaider I couldn't agree more with you on this. I don't like having to make a charge or loose most of my effectivness with Blood Claws and I don't like not having as many transport options like we do with Intercessors. Grey Hunters are that in between unit that highlights one thing that makes SW special, versatility.

@@T-74 You should try reading some books about space wolves it is not only The Burning of Prospero that hints that there is more to ferrisan wolves than just being wolves on Fenris. Try Lukas the Trickster.
