Nice video man. Keep it up. Having used both of those extensively in play tests and more than one at a time ie 2 stormfangs at a time, 2 stormwolf flyers at a time etc, I can confirm that they are useless against an opponent that is half compitent let alone competitive. The lack of an invuln save, the size of the "boat", the less dakka compaired to a stormraven, the pointless helfrost mechanic and the lack of the ability to transport a dread like the stormraven really gimps both of these. Yes, vengeance of the machine spirit is fun but space wolves are not orks that will blow up their flyers on a whim because it will do more damage on an explosion than in shooting anyway. While there is a meta where a whole army ie Imperial Fists that can throw thunder hammer blows at you at while still max range in cover with rerolls etc ie stalker bolt rifle while in devastator doctrine this will not survive the first five minute of a game let alone the first round. Yes in a casual fluffy game they work but, that's it. Nothing more but a funny fluff-piece

I think people are sleeping on the auto explode strat for these. Put one next to an enemy castle and if they shoot it BOOM. Change it to hover mode charge it into something BOOM. Then a bunch of thunder hammers wulfen pile out or terminators! D6 mortal wounds to everything in 6” is incredible. What stops the impulsor/ repulsor doing this is the lack of range, these can do it turn one.

One of those with an additional -1 to hit from cloaked by the storm and a bit help of tempests wrath (another -1 forr one enemy unit) and they are really quite the bullet sponge. I had my stormwolf tank the enemies combined fire for a turn and still have a lot of wounds left more than once. Then rendevous it with a drop pod iron priest and unleash the wolves upon the enemy, maybe fly close and assasinate a character and then use the charge and fall back shoot rule against shooty foes to be immune to fire. They can be quite fun :p

Move it up to a jump pack rune priest with storm caller, drop the CP for cloaked by the storm and now you have a -2 to hit and a +2 save for being counted as in cover. Opponent will have to target them instead of the rune priest or your other wolves. Turn 2 unload your cargo and charge, preferably wulfen. The key to this strategy is deployment so you don’t over shoot keeping the stormwolves in the storm caller bubble

for a first turn addition, you could have two drop pods of long fangs with a combination of lascannons and missile launchers to provide a long range crossfire nexus to take out enemy heavy weapon units that could drop those stormships

The countercharge strat also offers some benefits if you get your stormwolf right up in the enemy's face. A stormwolf that gets shot down within 9" of the enemy means your wulfen or WG can hop out 3" and then use the start to HI 6" into an enemy unit in their own assault phase. Depending on the circumstances, this may force the enemy gunline to fall back in order to keep out of HI range, or perhaps not to shoot the stormwolf at all to avoid giving away a free round of combat to a dangerous unit if they blow it up. You can get a lot of movement shenanigans with wolves now, including a whopping 9" consolidate if you combine canticle of hate with Ragnars ability.

Ah the flying penis boat. Stormwolf cuming out 15 blood claws or 8 wulfen is no joke especially in the middle of a tau gunline if it's not shot down first. The stormfang is basically a flying gun. Don't bother taking the multimeltas that's 80 pts that could be spent on a small greyhunter squad with a melta gun. 12 heavy bolter shots with devastator doctrine in no joke and still a viable threat compared to the 4 multimeltas against all targets. Only take the multimeltas if you want one flying tank destroyer. I'd prefer Bjorn in a drop pod rip and tearing necron monoliths every turn with assault with 6 s12 attacks with reroll to hit and wound and damage d6. 4 multimeltas is still scary it's just they're attached to a model that will take a lot of shooting and costs 300 pts.

Amen, I unload a fully loaded Stormwolf with 5 wolfen and 5 blood Claws (with a pack leader with Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield) sod reroll buffs (unless you can synchronise with another line of attack) as they literally destroy without them lol!

The Stormwolf annoys me a little to be honest. The various Space Marine faction starter packs are good value for most players since for example: the Sanguine Strike Company is for Blood Angels, but non Blood Angel players still get a good value out of it, if they needed a Storm Raven, an Assault Terminator squad, a Librarian and a Dreadnought at a beginner friendly price. The Stormwolf that came with the Space Wolf strike force however is not as flexible as it cannot substitute as a Storm Raven, and at the same it is also much too small to be a Caestus assault ram (which its appearance heavily resembles).

It's just how space wolves are. We have a lot of unique units and the stormwolf is just one of them. It doesn't make sense to be annoyed because you can't buy another factions boxed set and use it for your generic marine army... I assure you that us space wolf players would be extremely irritated if they made all of our units generic just so other marine factions could use them. We're already going that way with primaris... It's not like codex marines don't already have a bazillion different units to choose from - why do you need to be able to use ours as well?! Most space wolf players choose the army because we want something a bit different and unique. Don't try to take that away from us. Just buy the blood angels set and be happy with it, and let us have our unique armies so we don't have to play cookie cutter vanilla gunlines like you.

I only collect models and rarely buy a kit twice unless it’s basic troopers. And yet I find myself wanting to buy multiples of several space Wolfe kits. I don’t even like the damn furrys

I run one of each. Folk forget one of the easiest ways of getting into melee is to present 2 high threat targets to shoot until turn 3! Then it's too late bwahaha! (That fang strat tho!)

My friend uses dual Stormwolves with double 7 man wulfen squads + Arjac/wolf lord. I naturally hate him for it.

@@linkofvev That sounds glorious! I must admit though, I try to avoid multi-spam of units. Not only does it hurt the wallet if GW deem them too strong and smite them with Arjac's mighty nerf hammer, but it also deprives me of flexibility. I need a plan B with my dice rolls.
