Spa guy thank you so much for what you do. I was so excited watching this video. I just felt so much emotion. Thinking about how Elvis must have felt. He truly went from rags to riches. Bless his heart. I was watching a video you did when you said right place right time. That is a true statement. It was meant to be. There will only be one. God chose him. God knew he was the only one that could do this. Touch so many people young old all around the world. I was 12 years old when he passed I cried for weeks and didn't know why. Thank you spa guy for all your work. I truly appreciate you. I've seen things never possible if it weren't for. You're an artist yourself.

I love Lucy has to be the #1 tv show of all time. So creative & funny. Lots of famous people stayed or came here. Ironic how Fred died in the lobby of his former home of 30 yrs. Poor guy to die by heart attack in public. Think most would rather die peacefully in one's bed at night. RIP . Super Elvis stayed here for 2 months. Dean Martin Frank Sinatra ....M Monroe Joe ( baseball) Elvis made his mark on history & so...much we still have of him. Songs movies rehearsals tapings pictures people's first hand stories... Love Me Tender is a great movie. Believe it was either 1956 or 57 Elvis had a concert in Vancouver. Sadly he sang only a few songs & the fans stormed the stage ( Empire Stadium ) thus concert ended. Red Robinson a young DJ & big Elvis fan then till now...a Red now in his 80s, was with Elvis in a room for a long time before the concert started. Elvis being the joker he was got one of the Vancouver's finest ( policeman ) handcuffs & locked Red's wrist to a pipe. But saying all that ..after Elvis left Vancouver...Red said on the radio the room Elvis stayed in at the hotel. A big crowd of crazy Elvis fans got into the room & took everything !!! The high ups were not too happy with Red for revealing the room number !!! Red by the way got to be very good friends with Joe E. For some yrs Red would have Joe come to Vancouver to say a few words on his friendship with Elvis as yearly Red arranged Elvis tribute concerts at the PNE fair grounds. Thought I'd share that hotel story. Can't wait for pt 2.

It would be interesting to know if William Crowley had an actual apartment or a basic hotel room? Hopefully if you lived in there for 30 years you had an apartment! It looks like a Russian Hotel. Know wonder they have that clientele. I lived in Hollywood and didn’t know about this place. That’s why we love learning with Spa Guy!!!

Frawley lived in an Apartment type set up not just a room.. This building was originally going to be apartments then was turned into a hotel but not the whole build some were apartments..

Awesome as always Spa guy! Always wanted to see some history on the Knickerbocker where Elvis stayed ;-) was wondering if you can also do a story on the seelbach hotel in Louisville Kentucky. Elvis stayed here in late November 1956 and did a show at the Louisville Armory now named the closed Louisville Gardens. He also bought his grandfather, Vernon's father I believe, a car and gave him a hundred bucks while he was in town here in Louisville. Would love to see a story on the seelbach ;-) thanks for all your awesome videos!

I think the man coming out of the hotel with Elvis is probably Gene Smith correct? I am thinking the roof top photos you referred to were probably taken when Elvis pulled the prank he was going to jump from the roof. (In Gene's book)? If you don't cover it in part 2, it could be part 4. LOL. PS LOVE LOVE LOVE the videos and look forward to new ones every week.

Hi Billy, thanks again for such videos. Youre doing a great job. It's always been a pleasure to watch them. Since years I'm asking myself, how, where and when did Elvis learn playing piano. Do you know the answer? Greetings from Austria, Andreas.

He owned a Piano at the 1414 Getwell House and I think he practiced there.. He played the piano at Memphis recording for what they call the Million Dollar Quartet with Jerry lee sitting right there..

Another enjoyable vlog both and look forward to parts 2 and 3. Pretty cool to walk-through the hotel and such a shame it's not quite as it was - things move on I guess. Gene Smith says in his book they were 'expelled' for carrying out a few pranks during their stay while filming 'Love Me Tender', and subsequently moved over to the Beverly Wilshire which became their hotel of choice. Have you got that hotel on your radar?

Spa Guy, if you can get someone to come back at night time, wonderful! The information the gentleman could give you both about ELVIS and the hotel, wonderful! I did not know Fred Mertz lived in that hotel, had a heart attack there, and died there in the lobby. It was sad, but it was his time to go. I cannot say ghost do not exist, wonder if Elvis' ghost appears in the mirror. Is it the afternoon time that he died? The history in that hotel! (The chandelier is beautiful.)
