Stuart, in over twenty years we've lived here, we've never had a proper Spanish breakfast. Everyone can have breakfast what they like and is a bit healthy, right? We never go out for breakfast, always at home. I think the other meals we make aren't really Spanish either, although we do use a lot of Mediterranean things like olive oil and spices. Spanish cuisine is quite simple and we like to brighten up food with various other things and condiments such as Miso and Ras el hanout. I don't think there's anything wrong with eating the things you like, regardless of their origin, Spain or another country or a mix while living here in Spain!

At English style pubs and cafes they offer what they call a traditional English breakfast with sausages, bacon and egss. But I'm not convinced it's that traditional. I remember as a kid in the 60's and 70''s, breakfast was always kippers and toast.

Mate, the best part of working in Spain was having a menu del dia at a bar near the worksite and smashing the meal and having the orujo or hierbas with ice or patxaran. It was the best way to go back to work....with a buzz!! 🤣 As for the cold waters of Galicia, the waters around La Coruña heading towards the Lugo province are mild. When you hit the Atlantic ocean, the temperatures drop significantly. I imagine the Portuguese waters in the North are cold even though i've never been to Portugal.

Since 2007? Most of the market have done pretty well since 2007, only really crashed in the past year but they will be up again. Historically the best returns are made in the markets rather than property or any other financial instruments. Just ask Warren Buffet!

Bread and butter is not the most common breakfast. People use just to have a coffee and bread with olive oil. Churros is something that you take once a week, no one does it on a daily basis. Man just go to a cafeteria in the morning and check.
