I made this dish for brunch for my daughter. I added chopped bacon, pine nuts, fennel seeds and fish sauce. As I didn't have any vegetable stock handy. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you for taking the time to put this on You Tube.

I have similar dishes often.... sometimes Italian, East Indian or Spanish style seasonings .But the fried bread is a new twist I'll have to try soon as it will give a welcome new texture variation.

My mother used to make something very similar but she'd also crack an egg over other things like pisto or garbanzos con espinaca! It was always delicious! Love the Andalusian 'ta luego at the end. 😊 ❤

Excellent recipe and it seems every culture has a similar egg dish. I'm Italiano and the version that is traditional is called Eggs in Purgatory. Much simpler less ingredients but my own version is much more like what you just made with garlic onions green peppers. Absolutely an excellent excellent dish. Thank you so much for sharing

I made this last weekend and it was absolutely delicious! The only modifications I made were because of what I had on hand at the time, like red bell peppers instead of green, tomato soup instead of grated tomato, and an artesian Italian bread instead of baguette. Otherwise, the food turned out great! Thanks for the wonderful recipe and keep up the good work!

A little like Sopa de Ajo, which I made this morning in my kitchen in Galicia, using stale bread and two bulbs of garlic. I will poach eggs in the soup just before serving. I love this unusual recipe - another triumph for Spain on Fork!

Onions, peppers and tomatoes is my favorite trio to use, and so versatile. I love cooking beef, chicken, seafood, noodles in it, but I have never thought of eggs! Thank you for this dish.

One of the things I really like about this recipe is the grated tomato. It's winter here, so I'm not getting tons from my garden. I am using what I froze last growing season. Frozen tomatoes work awesome in something like this. I'll be trying this over the weekend.

Well, I am finally getting it! Being vegan (and still loving the taste of eggs) I am simply adding scrambled egg substitutes to these wonderful recipes! Even my abuelita would have been OK with this as she would say to me, "Mija, did you make this yourself? Then it is autentico!" 😌❣

Many years ago, I had a Gibraltarian neighbour who showed me a very basic version of this recipe, which I still use from time to time. As the olive oil is heating up, add some garlic slices to flavour it, then take them out before they burn and then fry the cubed bread. Once the bread is nicely browned, crack the eggs into the pan and stir around to mix the bread and egg. That's all!

INGREDIENTES para 3x PAX, SARTEN 29 cm 4x Tomates 2x Ajies 1x Cebolla 3x ajos (yo, además, le pongo champignones) 1/2x Baguette 3x huevos Paprika, sal, cúrcuma, pimienta Al final y por encima, provenzal (perejil+ajo+aceite girasol+sal+pimienta)

never seen shakshuka made with bread like this before but then there are so many versions, and I invent another (probably never to be repeated) several times a year

I would try it, they do soak up the liquids. I bet you the crunch would make it taste good.
