Haha, sorry Carissa, but it was pretty entertaining to see you looking so lost the whole time! 😂 Don’t feel bad though; the American girl knew a few Spanish words, and the Filipina naturally had an edge with all the Spanish loanwords in her language. They had a bit of an advantage over you from the start! Honestly, we Indonesians aren’t exactly experts in Spanish or Portuguese. Sure, we’ve got some Portuguese loanwords here and there, but the sound of the language, especially Brazilian Portuguese, just feels super foreign. Spanish is easier for us to pick up, mostly because it’s phonetic like Indonesian, and hey, they roll their R’s too! 🙌 Even with my limited Spanish and practically non-existent Portuguese, I actually guessed all the words except for “sofa” (I thought it was “chair”). So yeah, I’m feeling pretty proud of myself! 😎

Lala from Spain had probably never heard Portuguese before or had heard it very rarely, so until she got use to the brazilian accent, she could barely understand what Ana from Brazil was saying.
