Manufacturers should all be loading their BNF tunes. It would make it much easier for new pilots.

Not just the tunes - RESET TO FACTORY for the ports, looprates, VTX setup, etc. That is going to be the massive part.

Looks great, should help people a lot if it is used properly and updated by manufacturers. The ability to map the VTX tables alone instead of having to find them on some website will be nice. Also, we seem to find manufacturers go through periods of good tunes and bad on bnf/pnp quads. Finding youtube videos or random sites/ blogs can be a pain to find and should help those who are not good at or don't care to tune. This also should make it a lot easier to just try someone else's tune and flip back to stock. I use your presets from your site all the time to start with my custom builds. This will help make that easier too.

Thanks for the walk through of this feature. I haven't gotten around to trying it yet but I question how useful PID presets are given that (like you said) a PID tune is very specific to things like motor/prop combination and quad weight distribution (i.e. angular inertia). But I suppose if you're a novice it might provide a rough starting place for a tune better tailored to your quad than the BF 5" defaults, particularly for micro quads.

great job. I have all my toothpick's with your presets and it's amazing. Could any of these presets work for 4 inches? I think that now many of us are interested in constructions sub 250 or a little above since it is not easy to achieve it😅

Config is a nightly. You need a newer copy

Make sure you upgrade to 10.8 configurator. RC3.

I remember when I was b1tching about this being so necessary like a year ago. Next - let's get Betaflight using 16 bit math instead of 8 bit math precision. Some of us want to tune our rates beyond 2 pathetic decimal places (0.00 -2.55) Yep, your flight controller is doing... Vic-20 era 8 bit machine language math :-/ in 2021. This (0=255) level of precision l probably applies to most of the other settings numbers as well.

​@@uavtech As soon as I get my vision fixed, I plan to fork Betaflight and hack the math routines myself... I'll name the fork Aerobatica Mathematica.. or AeroMath for short... then others can rip and curse about it like I rip on Betaflight. A fork of Betaflight modified with extensions a features for hardcore aerobatic pilots. IF they want to roll my stuff in after it's mature, fine, but I've already learned you get ignored from the start (as a new face, or girl, or outsider, not part of the inner clic circle, all of the above, or whatever). I have a list of rates tuned to 4 decimal places in Uncrashed... as well as to 2 decimal places as best compromises to use in Betaflight. OHMIGOD are the 4 decimal place rates so creamy smooth as silky butter dreammmy. I'm sure the internal math results are more than 8 bit math. Probably all for ancient FC's. The new stuff you would think could work fast enough to raise that precision to two byte integer numbers and 4 byte internal math... Most people, admittedly, shrug, don't need that precision. But when you start doing aerobatics, and tune'd yoru rates over 200 hours... yeah... you really can smooth things out like never before with 4 decimal places of precision (0-6.5535) :)

It will be tricky to fit in F4 boards. 4.3 only has 3% space left.
