Most Malays Can Speak English and Most malays don Really Like to use Bahasa Melayu as Many Malays Say Melayu or Bahasa Malaysia some Malay Words Can be in the first or in the last Example Kenapa Dia Tak Makan Or dia tak Makan Kenapa Most Malays Including me mostly puts Kenapa in the first second greetings When Malays greet they say Hello awak dah makan? Meaning hello did you eat? In Asia Saying Did you eat is Most Used Then Saying Hello How are you but If you still don understand it's find as Malay Speaks good English like a Native but some words are changed to Malay

Strangely I never used “Ikutkan hati” but I would say “Kalau aku, rasa nak campak saje printer bahlol ni masuk tong sampah...” you get the gist :) and some P. Ramlee reference. But this is good, I learned something new today. Would you say marah2 is equivalent to being cranky or grouchy?

What an amazing work you're doing here Mrs./Madam Sierra! I'm currently learning Japanese and i mostly study them from KZbin. Obviously the market of the japanese language is much bigger so there are more people who are kind enough to make learning videos of the language right. But today I'm very proud to have found your channel and finding out that there's also a very interactive and well made Malay language learning videos for the learners as well. I love that you are teaching colloquial/local/bahasa pasar as it helps the learners to learn real/authentic spoken Malay. I hope you keep on making these videos and help attracting them to learn our languages, you are very appreciated by many of us!

I found your vidoes extremely helpful! Thank you for making those amazing videos! I am a bit confused about the words 'tak', 'nak' and 'dah'. They could sound similar. I am not confident if I would be able to differentiate them without subtitle. Also, can I use 'tak' and 'ke' interchangeably?

tak (original spelling : tidak) : no nak (hendak) : want dah (sudah): have / enough ke : (going somewhere)/ used as confirmation in informal malay To differentiate the words I guess you would have to understand the sentence or listen very closely. The words have very different meanings so with understanding the sentence, I'm pretty sure you'd make it out. *fun fact: actually 'tak nak dah' is already an informal statement , it means i don't want it anymore. Q: nak lagi? ((do you) want more?) Ans to Q: tak nak dah ( (I) don't want (it) anymore) 'tak ke' is also understandable when put together. It means "wouldn't it?". Q: "tak ke sakit perut makan makanan pedas?" (wouldn't (you) get stomach ache eating spicy food) Ans to Q: tak / ya / mungkin (no/ yes/maybe) ke when used as a confirmation is used at the end of a sentence Q: dekat situ ke? / Dia ke? ( is it there? / is it (him/her)?) ke in the front or middle of the sentence refer to going somewhere. For example, "saya nak ke kedai" (i want to go to the shop) / ke mana tu? (where are you going?) tu (is informal, original spelling: itu) so no, I guess, for the above context as you can see 'tak' and 'ke' have different meanings. hope this helps :)
