I’d rather buy Canare not for sound quality but it’s probably more consistent. Canare already has an established reputation in the music industry studios and they are made in Japan. To my knowledge, Audioquest does not disclose where their cables are exactly made. So it’s a bit of a gamble with consistency

1) Gibraltar 2) Canare 3) Type-4 The Gibraltar was smoother, slightly more rolled-off, slightly bigger soundstage. Canare slightly more air, bordering on crisp at certain points. Which one is best would depend on the rest of your system. Type-4 sounded good but was a little more disjointed and muffled in my cans. Gibraltars are many, many times the price of Canares - law of diminishing returns kicking in pretty hard.

The difference between any of these cables is subtle. The Gibraltar is the best by far but is the most expensive. The fairest comparison is between the Type 4 and the Canares. I was interested in this comparison because I just bought a pair of the Canares for a second system with an NAD D 3020 and NHT Super Ones. I also use the Audioquest Rocket 44s in my main system. (I bought these at a discount price but would not have paid full price for them.) I am hesitant to judge my recent purchase because the cables may not be fully broken in but this video is consistent with my own experience with the Canares. I find the Canares to have great speed and transparency but are a little lacking in body. They make my relatively cheap Super Ones sound almost like an electrostatic speaker. The Canares can also be a little lightweight in the bass. The Type 4s have more body but lack the speed and transparency of the Canares. The Canares are probably the more neutral of the two cables. The Canares are also less than half the price of the Type 4s through Blue Jeans Cable. I considered the Type 4s but bought the Blue Jeans Canares based on price. Unless you have a very bright and thin sounding system, you will do fine with the Canares for less money. This cable is a genuine bargain.

To me Audioquest Gibraltar is the best of the three, it's the most easy listening. I put Canare second best, although I can see why some people would put it first, but to me it's too detailed. That may sound strange to say but the Canare is so detailed it's a little distracting. The Audioquest type 4 sounds good, but lacks the clarity of the other two.

AudioQuest 4 sound amazing. Like the artist is right in front of u. Can't believe there's a difference that big. Sure the second one sounds pretty, but to laid back for me. Tight bass too. Really nice cables

I do think that has to do with using silver connectors instead of their gold plated chromium standard ones on the no frills version are though and less the cables. You can hear the silver there. Brighter

Thank you very inciteful. There is clearly a difference between the cables. I have a set of Audioquest Rocket 44’s & a very good Australian Cable called an Amber. The 2 do sound different. There is a difference in sound between cables . There is no question about that, I am happy with the Rocket 44’s. There is an American guy who on his website demands that people who hear a difference are suffering from a placebo effect. He says he has the measurements to prove it . All his measurements prove is that the difference is not caused by the factors he mentions. Excellent video I love the Music a bit dark but nice just the same .

I actually changed my position on this. In person, imo, the 4s11G in particular, sound better. The type 4 is too bright. Sounds great recorded in KZbin. But the 4s11G is some of the smoothest, natural sounding cable I've used. I made the switch. Maybe it's because it's the G version. But it's my new favorite. Audioquest got a little too bright for me after awhile. Still great stuff, but not for me anymore

I will give you that. Type 4 is bright as hell. I've learned exactly what you said in person after trying them back and forth for awhile. Canare 4s11, and 4s11G especially, in person is better. More musical. Natural. Not as glaring

I'm changing all my cables to canare, I used Van Den Hul interconnect RCA cable now I use Canare RCA cable and I'm wowed by it. Cable should do what cable is intended for, which is for delivering audio signal/currents, not acting as tone control.

ok word of advice !!!! first dont make your videos so long know one is going too listen to a whole song 3 times or more to here the difference in equipment or cables you have to make the audio comparisons short like 20-40 seconds max otherwise the Brain and ears will forget ! also you need to post a notice at the beginning of your videos to tell people to to your videos through go headphones or studio monitors otherwise its a failed and flawed test/comparison Im an audio engineer graduate and audiophile/music lover I maybe young but I know a thing or two

+C815richard Anyone expecting to hear a difference through a camera microphone fails the grade, and is fired too. I think that expensive speaker cables are a joke anyway, but add to that whoever made this video and spent all that money on wires records the samples with a MICROPHONE. Of course, how else could you demonstrate speakers cables? Well, you wouldn't unless the subjects were in the room with the speakers!

Also the video has been modified it, the sound is not coming from the speakers. Because when he moved the camera there is no sound effects between left and right. When recording sound from speakers at home, we don't expect to sound perfect, there have to be noise coming from the background. It doesn't matter he's using professional grade Mic to record, even the film makers companies have to modify the video to make its sound perfect. I see a lot of asshole showing off their system on KZbin.

hmm....i heard more sibilance on the audioquest type 4 and gibraltar. Type 4 had the most pronounced siblilance. Both audioquests may have been a little more full bodied in the vocals. Too close to call...and justify price differential. I would choose the Canare. However, if all priced the same....I would choose gibraltar.

i did not look at your title or any subtitles. the 1st one is good enough. every comfortable i should say. the 2nd one feels like something different in the first 30 seconds of the song. something the 1st one has did not appear in the 2nd one, a bit more crispier but something (i dont know what, its just an impression, could be my illusion) did not come in. but when the vocal started, to me its way different than the 1st one. i almost perfer the 2nd than the 1st. the 3rd one feels heavier and flatter in the 1st 30 seconds of the song. the vocal is different again than the 2nd. i feel the 2nd one catches my ears more than the 3rd, but the 3rd one is a bitter relaxing to hear. the 2nd one sounds good but i feel the ears are trying to standing up and catching that sound a bit not relaxing. im no experts in this field, im no audio tech background, this is just my honest feelings to it. i perfer the sound of the 2nd cable, but it sounds very tired to my ears, im feeling relaxed by stop hearing it or anything else. add to that, wanna a snap afterwards.

AQ sounds like junk, both of them. First AQ reached 89dB max, while the second did 92dB. The 4S11 reached 95dB, which indicates that it transfers "more music" to the speaker. 4S11 is THE wire.

I can't hear any difference the songs are way too long first of all should give us a shorter preview of each speakers running No way I'm going to pay like $300 for the some audioquest type 4 speaker cables which those were the ones I really wanted to get before watching this video but I can't really hear a difference so makes me think maybe the silverback speaker cables that I bought from Amazon for like $50 each I ain't going to be a noticeable upgrade since they all use copper anyways inside so I don't see how they can really get better. It's just hard to process hell these really expensive cables will sound better then cables already worth like 60 bucks that already have copper inside of it and all the same things pretty much the $300 ones do

Both AQ sound much better than Canare to me. AQ makes me relax to listen to music. AQ lets me see deep soundstage and lets me hear whole music. Canare sounds bright and peaky. Some emphasis freq (sound) positioned front of sound stage and blocks sounds in deeper stage. Canare sounds dry that my tip of nose, throat, and chest are sore. Canare sound is more shock waves than a music to compare with AQ’s sound. The sound should be heard with whole body, not just ears. It is like a feeling than just listening sound with ears only. Search deep inside ears (brain) and whole body. The good sound system should communicate with a listener. The music has to come through, not just clear sounds. Low, mid, and high freq has to be balanced which make more natural sound. Or one will be tired quickly.

AudioQuest are a little 'showy' on the aesthetics leading one to believe that while they may 'look' cool and all they may not deliver great or above the others in sound quality. However hearing is believing. I have their Diamond Back RCA's and I noticed a difference. After extensive research and listening I can say their cables produce a 'full' sound with rich bass. The sound stage deepens a bit and you get a bit more of an authentic over all sound stage. In short.. yes.. showy or not showy .. their cables do out perform the other high end brands. If you have fairly nice gear cabling can and often does make a difference.. At times .. in select situations even a significant difference can present itself.

I think I need to listen to this a few more times, but I think I agree. There's an airiness, a featheriness to her vocal that missing with the Canare. But the Audioquest are a bit more sibilant, the Type 4 especially so. The Gibralter isn't as bothersome to me, and from listening to his other speaker demo clips, I think this singer has a natural bit of sibilance that is offered up by the system. The Type 4's bit of excess, I think, may be due to the silver bananas used. Not sure with the Gibralter, but from the screws on the plug housing, they appear to be gold. Money no object, I think I'd go with the Gibralter, but I'd love to hear the Type 4 with gold connectors.
