I flinched every time and was shocked the Clay didn't inform him that he shouldn't do that. But, I imagine, of all people, Clay, has spare parts due to providing guns for films so we know the gun will be kept in working order. We've all seen that in movies a thousand times (and often the characters are the type of people who wouldn't know better,) so Clay's probably desensitized at this point and seeing that just comes with his line of work. He definitely should've said something to educate Cam, Izzy, and any in the audience who didn't know, though 😬

the irony being the S&W 29 was I wanna say one of those under the radar guns that was just about out of production and the movie team making Dirty Harry had to work overtime to get people connected to Smith and Wesson to make a couple of revolvers for shooting hence why the gun has the long barrel, then the movie came out and saved the S&W 29 and .44 magnum.
@R3D_Lantern2 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. It's a cool story though.

Another cool thing about this particular instance of Hollywood making something that may have fallen by the wayside popular is that it's an excellent gun. I love my model 629. Often times the things popularized by Hollywood kinda suck. Like the Franchi SPAS12, which is pretty unreliable and prone to parts breakages, but I still want one just because of Jurassic Park 🥴... Although in that instance, to be fair, they did show one jam up in the movie, so bonus points to the movie for the accurate portrayal and we can't say they didn't warn us 🤣
@billb892 жыл бұрын
Not out of production just not in the run sequence. They did production runs off and on throughout the year then. For example they would stop Mod 29 production and spend the quarter building mod 27s then move on to something else and later come back and build Mod 29s again. That’s why S&W serial numbers aren’t in sequential order.

I am a more modern pistol guy, but, a wheel gun does have its place in the armory for a couple of reasons. Less moving parts reduces the likelihood of weapons failure. The smaller capacity will force you to slow down and think a little.

The biggest advantages of the revolver in my opinion is that 1. They are omnivores. Any bullet weight and design at any power level within SAMMI specs will function fine. 2. No issues with going out of battery or limp wristing while grappling.
