On the lectures on Faith. I am a convert to the church. I didn’t even know if there was a God. There wasn’t anything to have faith in! BUT, I had a desire to know if there was a God. It all has to start with “desire” or one never gets to faith:-) Thank you for your great teaching!

Saying Thank you for this class is not enough. I have followed all the classes for a long time, but personally, none like this one. It deeply touched my heart. I understand very well why it changed your life when you received it in Institute. How blessed we are to have you both. Grateful that my daughters have had teachers like you at school, and now, thanks to technology, we can enjoy these treasures of knowledge. For years I have had that quote from the Prophet Joseph Smith about sacrifice taped to my refrigerator door ... starting today, it will have a greater meaning for me. Tyler, one of the things that moves me the most about the classes, is not only learning the doctrine, but your humility, the humility you have to share and teach what you know, that attitude and generosity is deeply appreciated. This class is to be studied over and over again! I will definitely buy myself a dark green marker pencil! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

It is strange how great teachers will come up with something special just when it is needed. I so needed to hear this today - in the midst of full lockdown again - into a fifth week, with no end in sight. Church on zoom again! My household is me and my dog. World conditions just continue to get darker taking my mood with them! Thank you so much - for lifting me, deepening my faith, and encouraging me to stop beating myself up for feeling hopeless. I really needed this lesson. I felt Tyler speaking directly to me, reminding me of just how great our God actually is! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

This is indeed a beautiful and very powerful explanation and teaching of bro. Tyler & bro. Taylor about Faith -- all based on the book of the Prophet of the Restoration, Joseph Smith Jr!! I am fully enlightened, edified and re-energized by the wonderful doctrines and principles about our loving, merciful and Almighty GOD, expounded and taught by these 2 inspired CES online Gospel Scholars/Instructors!! I will deeply study and learn more from these discussions for sure, and repeat them all over again a hundred or thousand times!! Tyler, I was very excited to see that you had shared this video about the Lectures on Faith because I also had taken this class from Jerry Wilson a very long time ago in West Lafayette, IN. It had also changed the way I understood God and salvation. As I began marking the character and attributes of God each time I saw them in my study, my faith indeed grew. Then Bishop Wilson explained, as you did, that His attributes are not limited to these listed, and that as I continued to study, I would see those attributes expanded. Even today, after decades of marking my scriptures in this manner, I continue to recognize more and more of His attributes that soften my heart and increase my faith. I marvel that I missed them before. Thank you for this overview that both served as a review and brought me additional insights. Thank you for allowing me to experience institute classes in my home. Thank you for your sweet and sure witness, and for the daily reminder that I am loved. Thank you for weekly assisting me to draw closer to our Savior.

I had this on when it first came out whilst doing other things and promised myself to revisit when I can set aside an hour or 2 for a more serious engagement. After church this morning and a quick lunch, I acquired my favourite study spot and re-engage with the podcast. This is so amazing. 4 hours on and I have only managed to complete lecture 2 but oh what a feast. My mind is filled to such capacity, I have had to force myself away for a break, give myself a chance to quietly indulge and reflect in the gluttony of new knowledge and clarity of others acquired. It probably won't be until next Sunday again before I find this level of time but it deserves the attention. I wonder how you find the time to prepare this on top of everything else in your life but for what it's worth I am so grateful.

As a lifelong researchers and students of the Lectures on Faith, We find your presentation most profound and very inspiring. We recognize that it is a minefield for Scholars. These Doctrines cannot be assimilated in a scholarly context but with spiritual interpretation as you have presented. Jerry Wilson was indeed one of the spiritual leaders of his age. Where scholars see contradictions we see unfolding mysteries and divine scripture. As you have mentioned Joseph Smith authorized these Doctrines as canon of scripture in 1835. We have felt the spirit of Joseph and other writers in these Lectures. I am saddened by later committees who seemingly misunderstood the context and sought to DE canonize the Lectures as they saw them as catechism instead of scripture, not as the prophet Joseph Smith intended. You beautifully portrayed the the Godhead in its true light as was presented by the prophet and other church leaders of the time. The two governing and creative powers of Heaven, The Father and the Son along the Holy Ghost as Mediator to the creatures and creations of God on all spheres , manifesting Truth. The two Divine beings -Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ along the Holy Spirit ( personage)constitute the three in the Godhead. Lecture 5, reveals us a mystery of which you did not present of which I believe you may already know where many would be confounded but answers the questions humankind have grappled with for millennia. Was the Holy Ghost present at the creative processes of the world with the Father and the Son. Was the Holy Ghost Present at the First Vision? And pertaining to the New Testament scripture, Matthew 1:20... the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. The answer is clear and defining but few "see" it. God continue to bless you in your noble work. PS We are Adult Institute teachers in Melbourne Australia and we have students from other states and nations. We are currently teaching "Jesus the Christ"-Talmage (Zoom) and in Jan22 we will be teaching Lectures on Faith and as our intro, we will be using this video!!

I love that the ONLY distinction made between the D&C and the lectures is DIRECT revelation. Could it be that a man who could teach a hundred fold more to the people also completely understood the topics in The Lectures on Faith which he taught? I think we seriously underestimate both Joseph’s insight and experience with the Heavenly. I’m trying to learn as much as I can about how to lead people to Christ vs showing them MY portal to him. Thanks for helping me do that. 😁

An excellent exercise for Teaching in the Savior's Way would be to watch part of your videos and come back to discuss what we enjoyed. What made it so effective? What is it I want to try next week in my own class? We teach in the pattern we see, be it good or bad, and you guys are thee BEST! I want to become as effective at helping others come to Christ.I am presently w/o a calling, but should i have that priviledge again i am going to incoporate more sense of humor, some Hebrew, hopefully gospel art different than the ones we've seen a 1000 times, and i got to devise a way to get highlighted verses up so kids focus w/o loss of precious time, & my favorite is your "make it real' analogies and constant use of gestures that keep me engaged, 'n lastly, the ever sweet expression of love. In a nutshell, you ARE the manual for teaching as the Savior would. Thank you!

Wow, Bravo & Take a Bow Bro Griffin, that was an in depth presentation, but you delivered it well. I know it is because of your love for the Lord, and desire to bring others to Christ that you teach. It was on my agenda to watch this presentation, and I am so glad I did. I wasn't sure if I was going to have time to watch this, but I made a goal to watch all the CFM videos this year. I wanted to include this presentation with my CFM learning as well. I did not even know about the Lectures of Faith, so this is new for me. I wrote some things down, and put them on my phone so I can read, and carry these short notes with me. Anytime I want to be reminded of the characteristics and attributes of God, I can just look at them. I have to buy this book so I can have my own copy. This was a very insightful lesson. It is important to know our God who is our Creator His purposes why He created us. His character & their relationship & their works. And to know their personality ,their glory & powers. What is the commandment given to us before we are send on earth. Do we have obligation to them? We need to read our scripture to know & be guided accordingly. To have the knowledge & be save as the purpose of the Atonement of Jesus Christ's suffering on the Cross of Calvary.. love , keep the commandment & endure to the end.

This was so good! I love the content and specifically context to the Doctrine and Covenants you have shared in this episode. Its cleared up some questions I had. I really appreciated the thoughts on multi-culturalism, and how the God of this world has never emphasized separateness, but oneness. Mind blowing lesson again! Thank you so much! One question here, when it’s referring to God, are we to understand God, Heavenly Father, or God as the creator of this world, Jehovah, or Jesus Christ? Because they are two different personages. Who is Joseph Smith and his brethren referring to?
