When it comes to academics, nothing proves this more than our children’s annual summer breaks.
Two to three months away from school can truly be detrimental to learning!
Our last video covered some very alarming facts and statistics regarding the academic regression that takes place during summer break…
So what can be done to ensure your child does not experience the confidence drain that academic struggle can cause when school starts back up again in the fall?
I asked our team about their expert thoughts on how to best overcome the summer break “brain drain.”
Today, we will discuss their feedback through the top four strategies you can use at home, or while traveling that will help ensure your child is ready for fall!
Welcome to Special Education Parenting Tips;
Today, we will cover;
4 Expert Strategies To Overcoming Regression Caused By Summer Break
1. Built-In Remote Expert Learning
2. Read; Help VS Accelerate
3. Secretively Build Learning Into Everyday Activities
4. Keep Children Around Peers
Even after almost 7 years of helping children reach their excellence, It still surprises me that almost every single parent whose child is behind in grade levels feels that the only way they can catch up is by attending fulltime summer school or ESY!
In other words, if their child isn’t approved for ESY or extended school year through their school district, they end up doing nothing.
There’s a happy medium…
Through working with almost a thousand children over the years… we have proven that in as little as one hour per week… a child can not only stop the summer break regression… but actually, catch back up in their academic struggle!
Here’s how it works;
