I just watched you test your 5oz silver bar that was determined to be 96% instead of .999 pure. 😳 That was very interesting watching you test magnet, Specific Gravity and PMV. Comments were available for that video from 11 months ago. That’s another reason why I love your videos. Thanks and keep these videos coming because you’re providing lots useful information to new stackers and experienced collectors alike.

I have always used this on all of my larger bars before they are stored, Another talking point is how silver has some breathing room in its specific gravity, while gold can be a bit tricker because it’s specific gravity has some close neighbors.

This doen't work for chains because they always hold some bubbles of air between the links, which causes a 'lowering' of the measured carat.

It might be nitpicking, but what comes to mind is depending where you live you might have hard water, well water, or who knows. As for 24 karat gold coins, if you were to dry them off by wiping, would it leaves scratches? If you let it to air dry could it leave hard water spots or stains? If one were to purchase a gallon of distilled water, could it avoid these issues that I brought up. Just thinking out loud.
@SilverSeeker
@SilverSeeker 3 жыл бұрын
I would Dab it dry with an old soft tshirt or something... certainly don't rub it. As for hard water, you can pick up a jug of distilled water from the store pretty cheap so I'd do that.

considering the "melting point" of tungsten of Melting point: 6,192°F (3,422°C) most likely it's gold, you can melt test it also as gold is at 1948°F electrical resistance test also Tungsten has high resistance

I’ve changed my position on stacking recently and decided to go the prepping route because gods put it on my heart that if something crazy happens like the grid going down permanently due to a EMP or something else crazy then it’d be better to have the supplies that you would use metals to barter for already in hand because who knows if people are going to even want the metals in a bad situation. I’ve been stacking freeze dried foods slowly such as mountain house because it’s the best tasting and lasts 30 years, can get them in sporting goods section, sawyer water filters which can filter a lot of water, and over the counter medicines of all sorts which last longer then they say, usually 5 years is safe for pills, and i have a couple Mr buddy heaters on hand which work without electricity and are safe for indoor use, just have to keep a window cracked a inch to provide fresh air but it don’t give off carbon monoxide. And I have been stocking up on 20lb propane tanks which you can buy a adapter hose to connect to the mr buddy heater. I also have some powder Gatorade which should last 5 years just fine even though the date isn’t that long, marketing tricks. I have a mini propane stove and some 1lb tanks and a metal cup to heat water, a “simple shower” which you can get on Amazon, you can boil water and mix with cool water for a warm shower if needed, or can use a pump sprayer with a garden hose sprayer on the end, you can make or buy them. A portable toilet is on the list that you use small trash bags with that you bury. And I’d like to get a solar generator from jakery and gas as well soon. Basically things that you can use Incase shelf’s go empty and or power goes out. And you can use ammo or any of these supplies for barter as well if you had to for other supplies but you’d want to keep the amount of people who know you have supplies to a minimum.

Same thoughts here! If the us dollar crashes due to bad spending/over printing will the rest of the world hold the value of PM's? How will we sell and to whom? I can't even begin to imagine how many tons of silver are privately owned that would flood the market in a matter of seconds. On that note silvers down and yes I bought some......right after I bought powdered Gatorade (brilliant idea thank you)!

Well done! Side question on a "real fake" American silver eagle. I was told at one point production was stopped on American silver eagles and a mint employee produced some on his own with mint equipment is there any truth to this legend? Without an education in physics I'm amazed how you can hang an item in water tied to a string with the weight supported by your hand and some of the weight transfers to the water weight🤔. Here's another off topic head bender for thought...... how come I can shut off an air compressor at 40 lbs with my thumb but that same compressor can inflate the tire and lift a car yet I can't lift the car with my thumb.
@SilverSeeker
@SilverSeeker 3 жыл бұрын
The Silver being suspended in the water changes the density of the entire medium and you can measure that weight change. As for your other one... I'm not a physics expert you'd have to ask someone else for that one lol!
