Definitely an interesting one ! Thank you for sharing ! However isn't it dangerous to have someone standing up that close to a running engine below the front landing gear ?
@FlyingHigh_AviationАй бұрын
@@f-btsc9944 It is a technician that communicates with cockpit via a headset, standard thing in these engine runs. All was according to safety regulations 🙂

Fine then ^^
@DoRC16 күн бұрын
@@f-btsc9944 another thing to consider is that whereas the exhaust is a single directed stream and the air being brought into the front of the engine is coming in from all directions So there's much less of a concentration of it in any one area. Of course you can still get sucked into it but it doesn't have the same force as The exhaust.

serious Q: I don't understand how it could be deemed safe for that guy to be standing RIGHT NEXT TO AND IN FRONT OF BOTH ENGINES AT MAX TOGA POWER. I mean, why even risk it? Why not have him do his job standing off to the side?? he can still communicate via comes off to the side, more safely, no? why does he have to be standing RIGHT NEXT TO AND IN FRONT OF THE ENGINES AT TOGA POWER!?!? seems insane. if there's any misstep and he gets pulled towards them, there's no time to go back to idle to prevent him from getting sucked in as they need time to spool back down...........
@TenMinuteTripsАй бұрын
The guy on the headset is next to the nose gear. I didn’t see where he got any closer than that. Nobody else is near the aircraft. At no time is he anywhere near the front of the engines. Also, the cockpit crew is running up only one engine at a time, while the other engine is at idle. He is standing on the side of nose gear opposite of the high powered engine. There’s nothing overly dangerous here. Safety protocols are being followed. I’ve been the guy on the headset during engine runs on planes as big as the 777-300ER. The headset cord is only so long. It keeps you honest. Surprisingly, the most dangerous aircraft to be around when engines are running, is the 737s with CFM56 engines, due to the large opening and close proximity to the ground.
@rafacobos695521 күн бұрын
Not good anybody near or the aircraft above ground idle and not good 1 engine at high power and the other at idle. Thanks.

Because if he stands wingtip his comms chord and headset will become 1 with the turbine blades thus resulting in engine damage. Nose gear position allows crew chief Birds Eye view of everything. Been standing there for 70 years ain’t stopping now.
