Using Nuln oil to pre shade before contrast/speed paint is super interesting, I will definitely give that a try

It definitely works and saves going overboard with the washa t the end. Give it a try. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Have a great day :)

And it leaves the top layer the actual color you want, not black. It can be pretty visible depending on the color.

They look great! That'll be another one of your paint schemes that I'll be "borrowing" for AoS 🌜
@DecrepitGaming6 ай бұрын
The scheme should work fine for the newer miniatures just as well. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment :)

Fantastic instructional vid, I'll be trialling the Nuln oil step, thanks for the tip! In return, can I suggest a final step of lightly dry brushing the static grass (wait until the glue is fully dry!) with a bone/off white colour - it 'messes' up the grass a bit and really adds some realism to the appearance. I promise it's worth doing!

I never would have thought of trying that. Thank you for the tip.

They look like the big spider that in my film last night 😮

I don't like spiders. Especially the ones that can run really fast.

You missed the feathers of the Gobbos :P I think they should be wild colors. It can also help make them look a bit more diverse
@DecrepitGaming6 ай бұрын
I deliberately left them white. Very easy to add colour though if I change my mind. You are correct adding bright colour feathers would make them stand out more on the battlefield. I like to keep things simple and basic for folks that do not paint, or folks who are just starting. Very easy to add more detail to these or any of the miniatures that I paint if the desire take you. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, have a great day :)

Nice and easy paint job. But damn the clone hammer is strong is this kit.

Yep the skull pass stuff was defo made on the cheap. Pretty much all the one or two poses. I may pick up a box or two of the newer stuff and maybe the odd AOS miniature to add variety. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment
@frostedbutts4340Ай бұрын
Yeah these are from an ancient starter set called Battle for Skull pass. Really basic models but 100 minis in one cheap (back then at least!) box is hard to beat

Nice one! Did you ever experiment with drybrushing the spiders with a light colour that isn't white (a yellow or light orange perhaps) at the end? If you wanted a more exotic look? Just a thought.
@DecrepitGaming6 ай бұрын
If I do another unit in the future (which may well happen) I will get the inks out and make sure some of the spiders are bright and colourful. This lot are fine as they are and if the desire takes me they will be very easy to go back to.

As a beginner, do you recommend I paint my miniatures with these Citadel Paints?: •Orruk Flesh •Corvus Black •Mephiston Red •Wraithbone •Mechanicus Standard Grey •Kantor Blue •Steel Legion Drab I could buy more "correct" paints but I love my kidney very much, greetings and thanks!
@frostedbutts4340Ай бұрын
I mean that's a decent start for a lot of minis.. don't feel locked in to GW paints. Other brands like Vallejo and Army Painter can be much cheaper and (sometimes) better
