I smashed my thumb a few yrs ago. Working with a CNC machine I was tightening a part in the vice of the machine and had to use a hammer. The hammer ricocheted into my left thumb smashing it on the vice handle. I had to go sit down and tell boss. Luckily it didn’t break, but man, it hurt so much

When i was like 7-8 (pre cubing) i hopped out of my parents mitsubitshi v-3000 and put my hand on the side of the car and slammed the door. Didnt notice my right thumb was sticking out and it got slammed into the gap and i opened the door screaming and crying and my mum washed it and iced it and i ended up losing the whole nail that week. The new nail grew back flexible and a 8 year old me thought it was funny to scare people with it lol. It grew back well and is now fine. The worst type though of hand related injury is a cut or just nail defect because you can still cube and think it is fine, but it slows you down and annoys you.

It's funny that 2 days before you crushed your thumb, I got a jammed thumb while playing cricket, the ball hit my thumb. It definetly affected my cubing but I got better on OH lol. It still hurts on that point but I can live with it.
