I would also agree if the movie actually took the time to get the character right. "Come on spiderman" he says to psych himself up! But why? He wants to be a superhero because it's fun and to prove himself to tony. It's not nearly as compelling as the original scene. The MASSIVE ruble in the comic is symbolic of his guilt on his shoulders he still has deep down for the death of Ben. This immovable object finally starts move when he remembers the reason he's been doing this. It's a great performance from Tom but unfortunately the movie doesn't understand what made the original so powerful.

As much as I loved Spectacular, I actually felt like its portrayal of the rubble lifting scene was lackluster. It was far too fast-paced. Meanwhile, Homecoming captured that tense, drawn-out feeling of helplessness that the original comic conveyed, the same feeling Stan Lee loved so much from seeing Steve Ditko's illustrations. Once again, absolutely loved Spectacular. Still one of the best portrayals of Spider-Man ever made, and still the best Spider-Man cartoon ever made. Just felt like they could've done that scene better.

@@Bakamatsu-GojiFanArchive But it's not as powerful a moment in the movie. See, in the show, what drives Peter isn't merely his own inner strength, but his guilt over failing to help Uncle Ben. Peter is a character who draws his power from his guilt, and his failure to help Uncle Ben is why he doesn't want to fail to help others. Of course, because the movie ignores Uncle Ben, there's a missing element to what drives Peter Parker. I'm not saying that the scene should only be about Peter saving others. It is also about Peter finding his inner strength. But Spectacular was able to show Peter's guilt AND his inner strength. Homecoming was only able to show the latter.

@Abyss_Princess8 ай бұрын
I think i know why Steve did that the way he did. Each panel shows Peter thinking about May, thinking about saving her, thinking about how he wasn't able to save Ben. Peter was reminding himself of what was at stake if he didn't get up, he'd lose someone else he loved, and he refused to go through that again. People always joke about "the power of love and friendship" but clearly it works. He refused to lose someone he loved because he gave up. This moment was stretched to show how being a hero isn't just about fighting and saving people, it's about not giving up even if it seems impossible 3:50 Tom Holland's moment was just as good. He had been fighting with one of the most technical suits for basically the first few months he was Spider-Man. But he grew dependent on it, thinking he could only be Spider-Man with it. But then he remembered Tony's words "If you're nothing without this suit, then you shouldn't have it", making him realize that with or without the suit, he was still Spider-Man
