The illusion scenes made my jaw drop. Mysterio is definitely top 5 MCU villains. Tom and Zendeya’s chemistry is amazing. Peter and Happy’s scene on the jet with Peter looking like Tony building his suit was perfect. I fucking love this movie!

Philip Simmonds That’s the problem/the strength of most spider-man villains. His rouge gallery is comprised of people with pretty simple goals...kill Spider-Man, for different reasons perhaps, but the end goal is to hunt and kill Spider-Man.

@@eddiebrock1068 It wasn't neccesarily the twist and after that "got better" for me it was Jake's performance. I knew the twist was coming, but Jake performance as pretending to be this sad alternate world guy was very subtle and subdued which was on purpose and great performance by Jake, but as soon as he was like "ANNNND WE DID IT" he started having tons of fun with the role and I was loving every second of it. I started seeing Nightcrawler Jake Gyllenhaal which I've even heard another review mentions on here I was like good I wasn't the only one who saw it.

I grew up with spiderman and he's my favorite marvel hero so I saw the twist coming when I watched the trailer (spoiler warning) I even said that his motivation was probably going to be like syndrome from Incredibles where he was creating fake situations to seem like a hero and I was right.

That first interaction between Mysterio and Spidey fighting in the dream like fake world might be one of the most comic accurate amazing sequences put in the MCU, there where multiple times in this movie I felt like I was playing Spidey PS4 again, and that mid credits scene oh my god that’s the best mid credits scene in the MCU

Was such a perfect fit, kind of like if they got Chris Evans to play a wise old mentor character in twenty years time. +thegentleassassin When I heard that Jake Gyllenhaal was cast as Mysterio, I was intrigued but also skeptical. Watching the movie itself, I was surprised. When the illusion in the "bar" wore off, and Quentin Beck revealed his intentions, I smiled from ear to ear. The Mysterio "dream" sequence is, not only one of my all-time favorite Spider-Man movie action sequences, but one of my top ten MCU action sequences. It was in-fucking-sane!!! And the fact that even in death (I think he's not really dead), he was able to fabricate the final battle with Spidey while also revealing his identity (along with J. Jonah Jameson), setting up the 3rd movie was fucking shocking!

I felt so validated after seeing the second post credit scene. The whole movie I was saying Nick F. was acting off but like Eric I chalked it up to it being necessary for the plot. Happy it was the skulls tho.

Yeah, I thought it was odd how weird he was acting. Losing his temper with Peter, being so openly trusting of Quentin despite being paranoid prior, the reason they couldn't really bring anyone else in because they couldn't find them... all makes sense with it being Talos disguised as Nick instead.

Personally, I really liked the angle of Nick just being so far out of his depth after Thanos, disappearing for five years, and losing most of the main Avengers that he was grasping at straws. It felt kind of like what they did with the Snap. They took this massive, traumatizing event from Infinity War and Endgame and played it for laughs. Similarly, it seemed like they were taking advantage of the comedic nature of the film to take the piss out of the guy that's supposed to be this calm and collected, knows everything super spy, which I appreciated. That said, they were just laying it on way too thick with Mysterio's superhero role for me to not realize something was up with Fury believing him. Though, I just thought he knew all along and was planning some sort of trap, not that he was a goddamn Skrull.

Both Obadiah and Vanko are jealous that Howard Stark's son, who didn't earn what he's got, got the company, the fame, and the glory. In the end, Tony did the same thing by leaving EDITH to Peter while Beck thought he and Tony's jilted ex-employees deserved it more.

In regards to Aaron and Shane's thing with MJ, she is Michelle Jones an entirely new character created for the MCU. So she's already what they say they want. Kevin Feige has stated that they chose to use the nickname "MJ" to show people that she'll be the one to have that dynamic with Peter and be that emotional support instead of Mary Jane Watson. I personally like it because it's a way to have your cake and eat it too because they can always introduce a Mary Jane in the future that's more akin to the source material. Michelle and Mary Jane as characters have very little in common based on what I've seen so far so it wouldn't be weird to introduce Mary Jane in the future. It's also a nice way to hop over the people who do get butthurt and actively attack and whine on the internet when you race swap/gender swap major characters.

This MJ literally *IS* a new original character... her name just happens to share the same initials as Mary Jane (Watson). 🙄 But she IS a completely different person; they NEVER tried to recreate Mary Jane by giving Michelle the MJ initials. It was basically an easter egg of sorts for comic book readers. Y'know... like, 'hey, we know y'all love Mary Jane, but we don't wanna re-hash her character/personality, so we're creating a new person, but we're using the initials as a kind of wink-wink-nudge-nudge 'cause we DO acknowledge the OG characters!'. 👌🏼 Just because she has the name 'MJ' doesn't mean Marvel is trying to convince viewers that she is Mary Jane... we know (or at least we SHOULD realize) that she isn't. They *did* basically do what you wanted; they created a new character who is nothing like any previous Spider-Man love interests (personality-wise). What you actually don't like is the use of the name-really only the name-because you can't seem to separate the character(istics) of Mary Jane from the MJ initials. 🤔 MJ doesn't HAVE to mean Mary Jane... but it's stuck in your mind that way-that it could only pertain to Mary Jane, and not Michelle-'cause of your history with the comics. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My friend's wife, immediately after sitting through Endgame, went on a tear about all the horrible things that happen when everyone comes back. Babies suddenly alone in parks, or in a house with people who don't know them, or into a NICU in a hospital that shut down years before. People who dusted as airline passengers suddenly reappearing at 35,000 feet without a plane around them. A submariner bamfs back in 6000 feet under water. Not to mention the horror show any amusement park would become. It was absolutely brutal.

They could keep being Mysterio for a long time as long as they keep the ruse up. Still don't think the main portrayor of Mysterio is dead, though; but if he were it's not like they couldn't keep him alive through the same methods they used to make him seem real.

A.I.M. will always be an organization dedicated to the acquisition of power and the overthrow of all government by technological means. I think the reason they didn’t make a new character for mj is because they wanted the audience to know that this girl is endgame. She’s the final love interest. I suspect if they had made another character completely, people would start wondering when Gwen or mj was going to show up. Or be weirded out that there’s no mj at all. She’s a completely difference character. She’s more Gwen than mj imo but I like her dynamic with Peter

Like, literally, he's just speaking to Peter and then it cuts back to the real world after Quentin apologizes, and Peter looks to the side for a split second before getting steamrolled. For the flash & the mom situation, I thought the same thing! Why bring those two things up in this movie if it means nothing?!? So my sister brought up the idea that maybe they might somehow tie flash’s current storyline in this movie with Harry Osborn’s. Maybe his mother is married to Norman and he is his step dad, is showered with money & stuff but is being ignored by his own parents. Kinda far fetch, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they switch it up to keep it interesting but still familiar, kinda like how we were introduced to MJ as Michelle, but later reveled to be MJ. If you notice during the movie you can see multiple points of the 'Mysterio Team' all around stalking Peter before the 2 even mean. It lets you know that it wasn't just a coincidence Peter's friends came and Mysterio was behind everything and it was all a set up.

I think I got it. There's been a lot of talk of Kraven the Hunter for the next movie. I think it would play out something like this. Spider-Man now ousted by Mysterio and JJJ, thought of as a menace on society, and his identity exposed has gone into hiding from the angry people of New York. Wanting Spider-Man brought in for justice for the death of Mysterio brings Kraven the Hunter to the concrete jungle of New York to hunt down his ultimate target and his own personal test of a hunter, a rogue Avenger.

The thing with the next big bad for the MCU, is that the serieshas turned into Doctor Who. Think about it. From Season 1 - 5, the threat always grew. Earth is invaded, dimensions are collapsing, the universe being wipe out, Time itself ending, then Time having never happened at all. From there, they had written themselves into a corner of escalating threat, how can you go bigger. For here, how can the MCU go bigger than Infinity war and Thanos. It can't, not without going really over the top. I think they should make the threat more personable to the characters. Like Earth itself is being lost to the villains. Condense it down to our heroes versus their greatest antagonist/villain. That's why they should do Dr Doom. A mystic to challenge Thor and Strange, an scientist to challenge Ant Man and Banner, a dictator who challenges Spiderman and Captain Marvels ideals, a war monger who is opposite Rhodey and Star Lord.

I think they are definetely building Flash Thompson to have a bigger role in the next movie. I couldn't help but notice they really put an accent into how he admired Spiderman during this movie...He went insane knowing Spiderman was following him on Instagram. It also plays well because of the identity revealed. How is he going to behave around Peter now. I also notice the scene at the airport. He's mom or dad didn't show up but the driver put me into thinking his family is really wealthy and his parents are probably way to busy with their work. I can't really remember what the driver said but I sensed that something bad happened but maybe not. In any cases this scene at the airport isn't there for nothing. Somehow I came to think that his story could evolved into a Harry Osbourne kinda story but its just something in the back of my head. It could be more related to the introduction of Agent Venom but Don't mind me

After the post credits I’m 100% certain the third film is gonna adapt the Identity Crisis story arc from the comics. In which Peter (Spider-Man) was framed for the murder of Norman Osborn. The only thing that will make me more exited is that Kraven will be the next villain that either JJJ or the NYPD will hire to hunt down Spidey.

One thing that I thought was cool was at the very end of the movie. When Spidey picks meets up with MJ in front of the bridge in New York City. There is a big wall sign that they put up to keep construction work off the streets that said "We can't wait to show you what's next." Which I thought was a cool way for Marvel to tell the audience that the MCU isn't over and that there is more to come.

Whilst his death was an impactful event in the movie much like Killmonger's death in BP which I appreciated that Marvel did, I personally think that there's a chance he could return, like Edith could've been programmed to tell Peter he was dead as he didn't return control over to himself, also Mysterio's mid-credit scene moment wouldn't have been possible if he hadn't disarmed the illusions earlier in the third act so the drone could appear to kill him, and it's never made abundantly clear why he disarms the illusion, so he could've planned for the event of his losing to Peter with his fake death plan, but then again this is all just speculation.

@@franskel9647I That's true I did notice that and it is definitely more likely that he is dead than alive, and we could always potentially see someone else take on the Mysterio mantle, but I do still think there's a slim chance he could've survived, but honestly this is all coming from a guy who is just tired of Marvel killing off so many villains and Mysterio is probably my favourite Spidey villain so I'm just a bit biased in wanting to see him return.

@@franskel9647 That's totally possible, although I reckon Vulture will take on more of a reluctant villain who maybe towards the end helps Spidey with the other villains (probably Scorpion and Kraven). Also having now seen FFH twice I still reckon Beck could be alive, as when he's radioing his team the guy from Iron Man says he doesn't know what he's planning to do with the drones when he disarms them, plus his repetition of the 'I still need the suit' and 'they'll see what I want them to see' line could mean he needs it the suit to film the footage at the end credits scene, and he let Spider-Man see a false image of his dead self (again Peter didn't transfer all controls of Edith back over to himself) but again all just speculation.

23:43 actually EDITH said that all ilusions had been deactivated, thing is his death doesn't need to be one of the ilusions she as running, it could be him just lying there and pretending to be dead, Peter never checks his vitals and EDITH never says he died, so he could be alive, also before deactivating the elemental ilusion and sending the drones he tells the person who was ironing his suit that he would still need it and if I am not mistaken that is the suit he is using in the edited video where he is lying on the floor next to spiderman when he "orders the drone attack", wich could be evidence that he is alive.
