Rough call putting Homecoming over Spider-Verse. Spider-Verse is much more of an artistic statement with actual themes and a message behind it. I enjoy Hoemcoming a lot, but this film has a lot more depth and meaning behind it.

I think that Homecoming is overrated by KF. I agree with Andy. I don't know if it is because I am a minority, but Spider-Verse in 5 yrs from now will represent more and will be more important to spiderman universe specially in an animation inspiration for other movies to come, something that Homecoming will never be just because it is an above average MCU movie type. It will have the Dark Knight effect in a way, and I can't wait to see other movies that get inspired by this masterpiece.

sometimes i feel like i hate too much on their review videos. i'm just passionate and giving my opinion but i could be nicer. anyways, you're totally correct. Homecoming is very overrated. i will say LOVED it on first viewing. I was caught up in the moment ya know? On the second viewing, i only really liked it. third viewing, i liked it even less. it's a good movie for sure, not a top 5 mcu movie. Also the lore doesn't count. this is the MCU. a totally different universe from the comics. age of ultron is nothing like the comics. civil war is nothing like the comics. etc etc. Come on now. it's overrated, yes. you take it a step too far

I feel like it speaks to how good this movie is that I almost teared up thinking about the dorm scene with Miles' dad while the guys were talking about it. In terms of Homecoming vs Spider-verse, I've gotta go with Spider-verse. It just resonated with me so much. I enjoyed Homecoming a lot (possibly my favourite MCU movie), but I loved Spider-verse

Almost my list, except I actually went into Venom knowing it was rubbish, and enjoyed it for what it was. Arguably better than Spider-man 3 and Amazing Spider-man 2 because it focuses on less villains and its plot makes sense and isn't over-complicated, even if it is pretty bog-standard.

Venom is mostly flavorless and dull. Spider-Man 3 was kinda dumb and silly as hell, but it knew what it was and had a blast with it. Dumb as it is, Spider-Man 3 is still actually fun to watch. Tom Hardy's weirdness is the only thing Venom has going for it. The rest is just super paint by numbers and dry. Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a great movie and a terrible movie mashed together in a blender, and it ping-pongs back and forth between them like a lunatic. There are PARTS of TASM2 that are truly great and absolutely worth seeing. I can't say that about anything in Venom.

Really enjoyed your take on it all ( especially visuals ) and while I do not agree with your ranking much at all, I do kinda get it but one thing that I admit I had a totally different with was homecoming, the vulture is the dad reveal. You guys seem to love it, I think it's cool but not that great cause I saw it coming hard with what I thought was a lot of foreshadowing. There was additional context with the drama/tension Miles had with his dad before being dropped off to school, which adds additional comedy and realism to the joke we had seen in trailers a million times. His dad was in the wrong for doing that and even recognized it later on in the movie as a flaw he should not had done.

The only thing I didn't like about Into the Spider-verse is that they took out that awesome line from the trailer. "What makes you different, is what makes you Spider-Man"... That was such a great line. But I mean that's not even a consideration on my enjoyment of the movie.. 10/10 and easily better then Homecoming (which is still a great movie).

Awesome podcast guys! That said, Doctor Octopus in SM2 was a much better villain than Fisk here imo. I agree with Nick that he felt empty and lame after watching the character in Daredevil. I hated his character design and he will be no one’s favorite part of the movie. Doc stood out with amazing action and a great performance.

It is theorized to be more closely related to absolute number of neurons in the brain and possibly with proportions of neurons in the prefrontal cortex or analogous brain region relative to other brain regions. For example, Barn Owls have about 450 million neurons in their cerebral cortex which is on par for larger non-primate mammals, meaning that they are relatively intelligent.
