it is finally here, my spider man into the spider verse reaction and oh my god. this movie was fantastic: the art, music, and characters were just top tier.
we got introduced to the spiderverse characters: miles morales, two versions of peter parker, gwen stacy, peni parker, peter porker, and spiderman noir.
i can't wait for spider-man: across the spider-verse this fall :)

Fun details but universe where Miles is from is the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) which was created as a re-imagined and modernized versions of the Marvel superhero's separating itself from the main Prime Universe (Earth-616) with both large and small changes starting with Ultimate in the year 2000. Marvel have never rebooted their main universe unlike DC so by creating a whole new universe separate from the comic's of Earth-616 they could reintroduce classic Marvel hero's such as Peter Parker as a 15 year old teen in the 2000s becoming Spider-Man instead of the 1960s. It stated out great with Spider-Man and X-Men with the X-Men being were more based on the Film in terms of artistic darker more militant uniforms but it started to go downhill with some weird choices. Some changes you may notice in this movie such as the Green Goblin who's a lot closer to his monster Ultimate version who looks more like the Hulk than a man in a Goblin suit like we see in the main comic and in Spider-Man 1 for example along with most versions of the character in media. Peter B Parker the Peter who was sucked into Miles universe is from Earth-616 the main comic Universe where everything is alot closer to ours such as the brand names, In Miles universe there's some weird spelling differences and the NYPD is called the PDNY in Miles universe which is pretty interesting it's like our own universe but a little different the adverts, movies, and even car brands reflect this. But yeah Miles always existed in a separate universe from the Spider-Man of Earth-616 he existed in a world with the Ultimate Spider-Man who wasn't that different to the 616 counterpart (Like i mentioned just introduced in the 2000s instead of the 1960s) he was just a little bit shorter in his teens. This is the same with a lot of the Ultimate versions of characters like i said reimagined. Pretty much all Spider-Men are based somewhat on the Earth-616 Spider-Man even the movies so they all share many elements from origin story to suit and appearance there's just many different Peter Parkers like what we saw in Loki from games to movies and comic's. The woman from Into the Spider-verse film was Dr. "Olivia" Octavius a really cool gender swap of Dr. Otto Octavius who has metal tentacle arms in most renditions with his Ultimate Universe look being more chrome and high tech. Olivia's her arms had a different design going for a more rubber look. Could see her being his sister as Into the Spider-verse was set in the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) Miles universe with many changes such as Green Goblin being a monster instead of a mad man in a Goblin suit along with different origins of hero's etc. The Ultimate Universe does have it's own version of Doc Ock like i mentioned but if you look closely at Spider-Mans (Earth-616 Peter the who sucked into Miles universe) and Gwen's recap you can see them fighting Metal Tentacles not the rubber looking ones Olivia has. If you ever want to get into gaming i highly recommend the Spider-Man PS4 game it's really good and introduces you to a bunch of iconic Spider-Man characters many you saw in this trailer should give you a better understanding of how they are highly recommend it.

But if you do PLEASE PLEASE watch the official mv for the opening AFTER episode 4 but BEFORE episode 7. That mv has some context that makes episode 7 so much more impactful that it's a shame it wasn't included in the actual show itself. There's no spoilers in the mv past ep 4.

Even Spiderverse, which is about the closest I've ever come to thinking a movie is perfect, has a few (super minor) issues that niggle me if I'm looking out for them. Save that 5/5 for the film that somehow manages complete perfection ;)

Indian Spider-man (Pavitr Prabhakar) lives in Mumbai, Japanese Spider-man (Takuya Yamashiro) lives in Tokyo and Spider-UK lived in London, but yes most Spider-Men (and most Spider-women and Spider-Girls) live in New York. It's one of those things like 'losing a loved one' that is *almost* Spider-versal.
