Wanted to point out that after arguing over the dangers of sharing tech and ideas, we learn Peter shared some replicative formulas with Miles Warren beforehand, which he only learned himself from fighting the Lizard. For characters aging in real time, the Vertigo version of John Constantine did, over the course of a 25 year run, 300 issues and a number of specials. John was in his mid 30s at the start of the series and about 59 or 60 by series end. This was refreshing and really added something to the character that feels amiss in the current mainstream version, but also has drawbacks (things like the prison arc or the marriage arc needing more time). I do kinda love the ending to Life Story is basically Armageddon, starring Peter as Bruce Willis and Miles as Ben Affleck (and I'm sure that comparison ruined it for someone out there)

The original films by Raimi focused on just Spidey are incredible. To see ONE person, that goes through what we do. He has these amazing abilities but has to follow a path that leads him into redemption and loss, focusing on just Spiderman is incredible. It gave so much weight to what ONE person who gains these abilities can do, and what they can go through, that tests their moral and principles. To show what he stands for and what he’s willing to do to follow his calling as the man he’s meant to be. A beacon of hope, a selfless hero with the power to save those in need of someone to look up to and follow. The Raimi films are masterpieces. All 3. Also just finished Life Story yesterday. Greatest Spidey comic book I have ever read.

This story is worth making an animated mini-series about. Just one season, maybe 2 or 3 episodes covering a decade of Peter’s life. Although, one major change I would do is make it more book-ended like Sal suggested by having the series start with Peter refusing to stop the burglar and then ending with Miles putting on his new suit to stop a current burglar.

I think Life Story was the perfect example of a Marvel Line I would like to see that I've been thinking about for the last few years. Basically do what Life Story did, set the stories in real time, however you instead would start from the Golden Age (1920-1940) and work up. Ideally I would love to start with westerns but starting with the Golden Age is already an uphill battle for modern readers I imagine. Have a huge focus on continuity and only producing stories worth telling (aka minimal filler with the main books being mini series and graphic novels). I think I'd be pretty cool to see the focal point be on heroes you don't often see or new ones entirely because heroes and villains would age out or die but also allows you to keep the main universe intact. You'd still be able to see your big players, especially ones who don't age all that much or slowly but they would often take a back seat or used as a starting point to get a sense of the world and its players. The world we see would also be shaped by the events that transpire instead of trying to completely mimic our world. An alien race visits the world for the first time? That's a huge deal. Real world events could be completely altered or phased out to be something completely different. Maybe WW2 lasts longer and isn't about jews but about mutants, maybe a Vietnam like event takes place in Latveria. Either way the world would be shaped by these events and technology and characters would reflect the foundations built into this world instead of just our world with our history essentially serving as inspiration more so historical events. If it wasn't already being used for reprints I would call the line Timely. I think you get a couple writers on board who generally love the lore of the Marvel Universe and allow them to build something from the ground up you could very well have something special and very different than what you already have while also maintaining the spirit of the Marvel Universe. Also with fewer titles and more important titles reading it all wouldn't be a task and a half nor would you get issues that don't really go anywhere. Also the small amount of titles would allow for the writers to not have to focus 100% on this line and given that you start in the golden age the stories being told would be very different. The biggest hurdle for a line like this would be maintaining quality and keeping to the values throughout its run. As the writers, editors, and artist age out as well.

Also, one of my favorite things about Judge Dredd is that he has actually gotten older, in real time. He's like 70 now, that's this... but it was actually done as the comics came out.

I literally bought “Life Story” 2 weeks ago and i knew from Off The Rack when Sal stopped detailing issues that you guys would do this soon... then y’all did HoX & PoX recently and it gave me hope you would do more recent runs. Thanks i loved this story and the way you told it made me love it more

Peter telling Otto/Miles is like a call back to JL where Batman tells Clayface, "You over played your part yo."

I'm getting this book for Christmas as well as Tom Defalco's original Spider-Girl run, Pete Hine's original Spider-Man Noir storyline, and Kraven's Last Hunt. I'm also hoping to get Crisis On Infinite Earths, Batman Dark Victory, Batman Year One, and Justice League: The World's Greatest Superheroes by Paul Dini and Alex Ross.

I absolutely love this story! I picked up the floppies last year and bought the trade paperback today. Mark Bagley is one of my favorite Spider-Man artists and Chip Zdarsky did an outstanding job writing

32:45 I believe Allentown getting nuked is a nod to the New Universe storyline where Pittsburgh became "The Pitt" due to a nuclear event. After Secret Wars, New Universe was Marvel's other big mid-80s intiative

Yes, but Dan Slott still had a bunch of great stuff in his run, Spider man issue 600 hundred is great.

@@fbritannia He's a genuinely good Spider-Man writer, but his problem is that he hates Peter. That's why Superior Spider-Man is one of the best Spider-Man stories out there but TASM Vol. 4 is the worst volume.
