The premise alone is very unique, and the animation style is very eye-catching. Every demon is completely distinct and individual from another one, instead of carbon copies of the same body plan with different colors that a lot of cartoons are guilty of (I do understand that is done to save time). The voice acting appears very well done and definitely embodies each characters personality. The only critique I have is that there is a lot happening on screen and to fully embrace all of the details, you'll have to view it multiple times..............which I have : ) Not to mention I love the singing, choreography and jokes in the montage!

i just love some of the bits where Charlies face goes more demonic, betraying the fact that under her happy good person exterior is quite possibly a terrifying demon of immense power that she works hard to keep hidden. this of course leads me to a potential fan theory that the hotel isn't as much to help others but herself before she loses herself to the darker impulses inside. This would also make Alastors roll much more clear. he may enjoy watching a few menials struggle but his real enjoyment will be watching her fail and slowly be more corrupted by her frustrations until she finally unleashes her inner demon and becomes a force on par with his considerable powers. Having someone that could actually match him would be the ultimate way to end his boredom.

Can't help thinking that Charlie from the pilot seems more interesting than the character from the actual series. The old version of Char gives me 'sweet but maniac-like girl' vibes and I love it so much. It's clear that she's kind and sincere about wanting to save sinners but at the same time she has something dark and even scary in her. See, Char shows her demonic appearance every time she has ANY strong feelings, including joy and excitement, not just anger like in the series. Moreover, her songs from the pilot are more darker and sinister. The first one is actually about Charlie hating herself and feeling lonely because of family issues and the the lack of sympathy from the other demons. The second one is full of black humor audibly and visually (Char throws that puppy down like nothing lol). Also the video shows Charlie as an overactive person and the lyrics show how idealistic and immature she is by believing that ALL the sinners can be redeemed ('just puppy kisses and cotton candy dreams'). So, Charlie from the pilot turns out as a tender child who sincerely wants to save her people but also has many serious mental issues. Her wish to help sinners is like a mania, a way to deal with stress and to run away from her problems. She can be too annoying with her kindness so demons don't like her and she sees herself as a trash even more... O Gosh, this is so intriguing. It would be great if they showed us Charlie as a deeply heart-broken child, her fantasies and songs as a way to hide from reality and her altruism as a mania. Also I'd like to think of Charlie through the idea of toxic kindness, it could work so well with her feelings for Vaggie. Just imagine, Char unconsciously hurts her girlfriend by making her serve lofty purposes and Vaggie can't disobey because she can't be open with her feelings and is afraid of losing Charlie. I really hope we'll see more of dark aspects of Char's character reflecting her traumas and demonic nature. P. S. Her old voice is so awesome, high, soft and childish, really demonstrates her naivety and contrasts with her hidden darkness and madness.

There's a lot of potential in the series but the plot writing wasn't good. Anyway, I believe in Viv and her team, hope 2n season's plot will be more structured

My favorite part about this show is how every single demon has a different design from the last. Like, serious dedication to make every single character not the same. You could have easily just copy pasted a million demons into the background, but no, you went out of your way to make watching back much fun to look at the different demons. There’s so much hard auto tuning, which is commonly used in only to areas, when you have a singer so bad it makes you want to kill your self, and you’re trying to fix it, or when your trying make someone sound less human, the hard tuning here, seems to get harder near the end, so I think that the beginning was just to make it sound less human, and the stuff at the end is both to fast, and to high pitch, so they tuned it, cause she can’t hit those notes, than speeded it up, cause note one can sing that fast or hit those notes in that fashion, thats note how the human voices works, so it ends up making a interesting sound
