My least favorite part of this movie was how all the traps seemed impossible. There was no redemption just murder. I feel like that is a key element of all these movies and what makes us relate to the characters and puts jigsaw in a moral grey area. These poor guys had no opportunity to win the games except the 2nd to last one with the guy who killed the dudes dad, that one was doable.
@jordan2klegend5823 жыл бұрын
I feel like all the traps were easy to beat. Not easy as in there's no pain but the train trap all he had to do was jump and the finger one he had to bit down hard enough to survive and the spin one that one was pretty hard. But the glass one was easy buy he didn't save him in time. And the last one, we'll he was doomed from the beginning of the trap.
@elgirl193 жыл бұрын
@@jordan2klegend582 imo the glass blower was the only possible one. He would’ve chocked on his own blood in the train tunnel. The finger puller was not quick enough and the water was rising to fast. The wax one was impossible with hot wax dripping on your face and the oh so easy escape of severing your spine.
@jordan2klegend5823 жыл бұрын
@@elgirl19 The traps are very time consuming. So you have to be quick there's no time to think just act. Like with the finger he had to bit down and hold it but the pain was to much and he let go and the water got to the top. Also with the train trap all he had to do was fall once he did just keep your face down and the blood will go out not in. Honestly the movie was great the traps were great the plot was great. It's the best saw movie in my opinion.

@owen-fk8rt3 жыл бұрын
Well I feel that Dr Gordon was a throw in, because after hoffman died they needed someone to take up the mantle, because they didnt want to end the series, they always wanted to keep it open for potential ideas, and popular opinion saw 7 is the worst in the franchise, jigsaw was ok, but again it feels like they are jus throwing random characters as jigsaw. I liked spiral, I thought it was very good for the series, I would like to see more spin off franchise of saw, because tbh the original franchise died after the 6th one. so i think going with a new approach was smart.

This ending will come to be appreciated in the coming years When you realize Zek choose the bad ending due to being broken and clouded by hate, rage, broken trust & Loyality because everybody has a limit. People feel Zek did them dirty so they turned they back on him, yet Zek stay true to himself because even though Zek is loyal. He is about the law & doing what is right. For example, the glass bottle scene. Even though Zek "snitched" on his partner. Zek still tried to save him because it's the right thing to do. Even though Him & His father did not have the best relationship. He still tried to save him. Even though Zek & The head were always at each other throat. He always tried to save them. Zek understood the killers motive but because murder is bad. Zek tried to do the right thing by bringing him down. But this were we saw, Zek complete his downward spiral into madness. The Right thing to do was for Zek To be by his father side and figured out game by seeing the key was the door. Zek taking that split to scope out the situation and thought about what he said. Zek would have looked at the door. Saw the wires and saved him and his dad yet the one time Zek choose wrong, choose hate and rag over being smart and logically by attacking the killer. Zek failed the most important game by basically killing his dad but a broken mind is blind to the blessings that are not disgusted That's why my reason that this movie Spiral: From The Book Of Saw is one of the best movies because instead of using the traps to break a person mental. The main traps was life and watching the downward spiral of the age of saying. "Why does Bad things happen to good people" and the twist, to me was obvious because that wasnt the most important aspect. The twist was use to fully complete Zek downward Spiral.

I'd give this movie and 7/10. Chris really made the roll his own, I was pretty invested from the very introduction of his character with the forest Gump monologue. I think the story felt a little rushed, seemed liked toward the mid-finale they really wanted to get through the movie as fast as possible. The final minutes seemed a little awkward, the final trap wasn't really a trap and it seemed like Chris' character had plot armor the entire time. There was a moment where I thought he had to make a really tough decision when he was handcuffed but they let him off easy, although I did appreciate the 1st saw movie reference. I'd really like them to continue with this story line I think there's way more to tell between Chris' Character and Schenk

Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. I thought the new “voice” of Jigsaw was actually creepier than John Kramer’s. Emotionless and monotone. I wish there was more character development. I thought Samuel L Jackson would have been more involved in the plot. I wish there was more to it- I actually felt Zeke’s emotions through everything and I could dig it. The traps were super cool- I feel like the gore factor was the most realistic out of all the Saw films. In that respect, this one takes the cake out of all of the movies. I wanted more plot- that’s what for me hooked in the first place. John’s philosophy and the psychological aspect of it kept me coming for more. Looking back at clues, Schenk was predictable. But when I see movies I’m too invested into it to actually notice Easter eggs like that. Chris Rock definitely impressed me. I could go on but here’s my rating.. to my favorite/least favorite. 1. Saw 2.Saw III 3. Saw II 4. Spiral 5. Saw 4 6/7. Indecisive If I like Saw 5 or Saw 6 better 8. Saw 3D 9. Jigsaw

The more I think about this ending the more I love it, even if I thought the reveal/twist was weak initially

The ending was such a gut punch. Yet it was still similar to the first Saw movie ending. Overall, I liked the film. I agree with John that there's should be some new blood when it comes to writing. I nominate Mike Flanagan as both writer & director. He did an excellent job on Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House, & Hush. His input could take the Saw franchise in a much needed new direction. I'd like to enter the giveaway. 🤞🤞

Me too, the ending is really depression like in Saw first movie. Adam screaming in depression, begging for help, and he was afraid of loneliness. While Zeke was screaming as felt betrayed by his partner.

I REALLY LOVED THE NEW MOVIE but the ending got to me a little I almost cried at the end, but I hope they come out with another movie to this. As well made me a bigger fan to it as well

Great job bud. I agree. The id of the killer was pretty obvious. Chris Rock was cool in this. I liked the different direction they tried to do but I'll always be a fan of the continuity the others brought. Yeah, some of them did get a little off their game with some but Tobin Bell was awesome. I also agree the voice in Spiral did feel a little awkward. Still, I liked it. Already waiting for the 4k release on July 20th!

I friggin loved it bro it was a great reminder Chris rock isn't just a comedian and can actually play other roles

Idk I'm gonna have to watch it again because i just watched it yesterday and I couldn't take Chris too seriously bc he did joke quite abit. I guess its hard seeing a comedian play a serious role other than Robin Williams. I liked the movie but honestly I rank it above Saw 7 and Saw 7 is at the bottom of the Saw movies for me.

3:54 But that wasn't John's Jigsaw, that was Detective Hoffman who just wanted to be a serial killer, the other Jigsaw never did public displays he made them personal to the players

I actually think this could have been in the top 3 saw films HOWEVER - 1.) The way the did the fake death of the partner was so Inexcusably bad that it affects the whole movie. To anyone who has seen a movie before it all but confirms the partner as the killer. It beggars belief that they went with this approach. The partner didn’t even need to fake his death, it was ultimately pointless and would have been a much bigger shock had this not happened. 2.) The new jigsaw voice, while it has grown on me a little bit is still ridiculous. Yes we need a new voice but it HAS to be deep and scary. It reduces the impact of the trap scenes so much. With those things considered I would probably agree with the ranking for this film and put it in the middle of the 9 films.

U brought up a very good point with the showing the body then showing the trap and how it kind of killed the suspense of you thinking if they are going to make it or not but I do like how they did more into the story than previous saws I liked this movies creativity ‼️

I've seen way too many horror movies to know that the twist wasn't 100% predictable but I still was surprised. The new puppet voice was also not near as creepy as Jigsaw.

I saw this movie this pass Friday and really enjoyed it! It may just be my favorite of the franchise if not second favorite. I thought the acting was solid to good. I really like the traps they felt different then other Saw movies. I love the back to basics mystery element to this movie and how the traps weren't just in one location. The pacing was good too. The only negative I have is the killer reveal being weak.
@J-fg4zk3 жыл бұрын
I discovered that the partner is the killer based on the way he chews his gum during the public discussion between all detectives in the police station . He sounded like and looked like he does not give a F about the victims and continue chew that gum 🤫

I have a theory he met Logan or Dr. Gorson or both. Cause think about it when we first met Jigsaw we assumed it was just him then we learned about 3 disciples. I doubt he did that all by himself

Another really good video-Shall have to watch this when it comes out, I have always wondered why, in the last saw film: The Final Chapter! Why in the flashback, when it shows Dr. Gordon + John found him after he escaped his game + was the leader of the three pig-masked figures. He gained a lot of weight on his face so there was a Continuity error that really pissed me off.

I agree with you . I do think newer writers even a law and order writer is fine for the film new take but bousman can stay as director . The twist at the end was good but also bad if I had to end it in a way I would've like to see these types of ending myself 1 . The killer doesn't get revealed until spiral 3 or 2 in the movie franchise 2 . What if it's a cult but Max character is still involved but the cops find 2 pig masked killers and found out its teenagers who decided on making the trap in the opening because that cop took there innocent father to prison . And at the window outside while the kids talking a police officer or Chris rock character ask if they know who the mastermind is and one looks nervously outside and says they don't know and max face looks evil or just suspicious and at the end of the film samuel still dies but from only one cop and Chris rock and max decided on cover up the murder I guess . But I still feel the ending should've been the car screen but they'll find Nicolas character in the truck dead with a voice tape ending " let the gamea begin or even another sentence . At the end we see 6 people in pig masked at a place with jigsaw book from saw 2 standing in front of John Kramer body and plays Billy the puppet laugh . Then if there's a sequel 1 . Get logan and Hoffman into the story where it could be Hoffman the one who Chris rock took to prison and logan on the other hand might be the good guy helping Chris Rock. My ending stupid but it's worth the time in my opinion

Lean into the Book of Saw and have it be an anthology series. They could really have fun with that. Maybe it isn’t always someone who is a mechanical engineer with 60 years experience in making Rube Goldberg traps.

I felt the same way at first but after thinking about it. It’s a good story line and concept of him getting back at the dirty cops. It opened it up for potential movies that can be individual story lines. Now other people “could be” influenced by jigsaw to put people in traps with their own reasons why, which could in turn become a wave of correcting people’s bad habits by. Giving them more purpose just like jigsaw was trying to accomplish
