Okay i dont think people are keeping up, In 3.24.1 you were able to fit 96 scu's in the c1 by using the ships tractor beam to put stuff in the middle, in 3.24.2 they changed it to reduce the space in the middle to make it not possible to fit things in the middle if you snap them onto the cargo grid, now it seems in the 3.24.3 they reverted this change making it once again possible, hopefully this follows through to the live as it makes this ship alot more attractive and an actual competitor with the zeus CL's 128 cargo capacity whilst having a easier to use cargo grid

The initial comment was talking about what they did in 3.24.2 (current PU). You could hold 3x32 SCU with 2 snapped in the C1 before that patch dropped. The current PU patch also has the Corsair changes so the conspiracy was that they changed C1 and Corsair to make the new ships coming in look more attractive. So what you've discovered is that they've changed it back.

Before 3.24.2 (the release of the Zeus) the C1 cargo grid was the way it appears to be (once again) in 3.24.3 as you've pointed out here. When they released the Zeus, they made the cargo grid smaller in the C1. They've simply changed it back to how it was. Great news

It’s important not to jump to conclusions. None of us know for certain if this temporary change they made was just a way to make the Zeus sales go better, but given CIG’s track record for fishy looking sales tactics, we shouldn’t completely discount that possibility either. It’s highly likely AND… we don’t know for sure

Great to see they fixed the cargo area. Hope they fix the interior lights and the loading ramp warning light alignment too, I love this ship and it's a shame so many things broke. But that's been the case with many ships since 3.24.2. Btw if anyone is ever finding themselves struggle to get between the large boxes, having a small box in the back (behind the blast door) can help you climb on top of the large one and move to the front. As for getting back out, the ship's own tractor beam can help.

I also love my C1, but it is not fair to claim the cargo area was broken. It has always been easy to load it up to its rated capacity of 64 with any size boxes. Something that a lot of other ships cannot do.

@@markomatic1967 Yeah I'm not unhappy with rated 64 at all and the ease of use is great. Just wasn't happy to see the alignment make a shift, not making optimal use of available space anymore, narrowing the center path and creating a narrow useless passage on the outsides.

@@asheliagaming That is a fair point. I am not going to complain if the ship gets better. I just do not think we should count on more than the rated capacity. As some others have noted, I suspect there will come a time when it is not safe for the ship to fly around with unsecured cargo in the back. I have also seen other videos talking about the need to access the outer walls for potential engineering gameplay. For example, will they add a fuse or two back there? Anyway, I guess we can enjoy it while it lasts.

Originally the boxes would be against the wall. Current PU they changed it that the boxes were on the red line and you could walk between the box and the wall when they were snapped to the grid. It appears in the current newer PTU they changed it back. So it's not 'better', it's back to how it was originally. Patch 24.2 they tried to be sneaky and make players UNABLE to put a 32 box between them when they were snapped to the grid.

I think it was just some bug with the C1. If you look on Live PU right now, the warning light that the C1 has when you open the ramp is also weirdly offset. The cargo grid thing was brought up in the issue council as a bug and then marked as fixed.

In the future, loose cargo boxes will damage the ship as it bumps inside. Keep that in mind. CIG made the mistake of making the C1 cargo bay too much wide. They could've done it slightly narrower so you couldn't fit a third box between the two snapped ones.

CIG changed the C1 cargo grid to prevent the third 32scu in the center for 3.24.2 Live. Now in 3.24.3 they moved the grid back to where it was two weeks ago. Before you state it's a "fix", realize their now testing "Loose" cargo causing damage to the ship and other cargo. I loaded my C1 and the Non Locked cargo ate a hole thru the ship when I lifted off.

if the c1 spirit had a ladder to the outside like the zeus mk2, you could easily throw 96 SCU into the hangar. one orga member even managed to get 126 SCU, literally walling it in, so someone had to fly along in his own spaceship and free him from the cargo. an additional ladder would have solved all problems. And I think if they update the ships then the spirit would have deserved two additional shields to be at least somewhat on a par with the freelancer.

This is thankfully a bug, both grids are offset at different positions, and the A1 also inherited the cargo grid. So many things are broken on the Spirits right now in 3.23.2/3

The ships break all the time and since they are done making them they are no longer a priority, it takes them forever to come back and fix them after every patch. Why do they break? the cargo grid used to be closer to the sides so you did not have to push them off the grid for it to work. it used to be they would snap and you would have enough room in the middle to easily slide one more between.

I noticed the difference with the grid the moment you showed it before you even put anything in it. Though I managed to fit like 100 SCU worth of stuff in a C1 just today on the live build(3.24.2), this will make that even easier as it utilizes more of the ship space. I noticed that there is no longer a gap in the sides with this change. With this style of ship there is no reason to have those gaps cause you never walk over there.

I don't think I would get to attached to using unsnapped cargo when the idea is that anything not on a grid can fly around and damage things including your other cargo and ship. That is the whole reason cargo grids exist in the first place rather than boxes just snapping anywhere you put them.

The C! Spirit is rated for 64 SCU. I think if you put additional cargo, not locked to the grid, you should get wear and tear on the sip, and possibly end with damaged cargo -- specially if it's a fragile cargo, which is expected later. That would still allow you to stuff in more than it's rating, but you take a risk when you do. Otherwise, I think it's just gammy.

If one box is snapped to the grid and you don't have off grid boxes at the ends of the 32SCU that is snapped to grid, you can move along the wall to get out. Unless they patched that too. My daily driver is the C1 and I have been dealing with this unnecessary and intentionally harmful change by CIG. If CIG wants to play block the cargo that is not on grid they really need to start with the biggest ship doing it, the Reclaimer and all those boxes that get placed on the walkways overlooking the salvage hold. Another predatory marketing action by CIG, there was no reason for the change, C1 is not a competitor to the zeus no matter what compare videos go up. If it was the Cutty Black would be in the same video as the C1 is the competitor to the Cutty Black. Even with an extra box in the middle, C1 has fewer components and less cargo, less ship amenities and only one exit not three. That said, I will never bother with a zeus.

Even if the Zeus has much more internal space I just feel like the C1 is more "open" and this visual effect is of my liking. The Zeus might be better because of more cargo and multi entrance points and a more refined internal space but purely by aesthetic I still prefer the C1

It is the opposite of what you were saying. You could fit 3 x 32 boxes before with the 32s ON the grid. They moved the grid closer together this patch to try and stop you. This is in on 3.23.2. They did it to make the Zeus more attractive during the sale. Jokes on them - you can still fit more in if you use the alternate tractor beam mode to move things off the grid.

It has less carge even if it can fit the 32 down the middle by the way, and you also end up disadvantaged because you are blocked in. I don't care that the ships are different. I am merely calling out sketchy business practices. Nerfing A when A competitor B is about to go on a massive sale is slimy as shit. It's happened multiple times this year alone. That being said, I would love identical ships (stat wise) from different brands. All for more player choice in terms of aesthetics.That doesn't mean we can't also have different ships too.

I have personally fitted 116scu just fine. Others I have heard have done 132scu but this is more time consuming. you can fit 3x32 1x8 3x4 so 7boxes at 116scu is easy and fast

Omg!! I Knew They must have changed it!!! Used to get 3 lots of 32's, now you can't get the 3rd box in-between!! Very annoying!!!

I dont think the C1 is supposed to be a competitor to the CL. Price wise, just does not fit. I think they should be improving the grid of the zeus so that it can compete closer to the Taurus than the C1, although still in the middle. That justifies the price point in my opinion. The Zeus SHOULD be a better ship than the C1, I do not understand why we are trying to make the C1 as good

I think the Zeus DNA should have neen an AEGIS ship not RSI ITs a complete mess. Double the components - 50% more crew - and the same space (Volume) for cargo - compared to the C1 which is the same size. It should have been 50% bigger for starters. But then you would upset RSI constelation owners. So it was really a stuff job. Because the concept was too generous.

Sux they nerfed the spirit for no reason. When I owned the Spirt you could snap the boxes to the grid AND fit another 32 in the middle. Why did they change it? I guess when they want to sell the Zeus they’ll nerf everything else. I’m glad they changed it back

That was a bug. Not nerf. Now they fixed the bug and you can again fit 64 in the grid while using the middel corridor for more boxes. If they really wanted to force players to buy the Zeus. Why there was no nerf to the freelancer max?

I had one and melted it for the C1. The C1 has more personality than the Zeus but then again cardboard has more personality than the Zeus. This is good news thanks for making it
