Is it going to actually be a torch and burn or is it going to light up or something? Right now it looks like a big rusty rocket. I don’t get it.

LED lighting will be installed on the exterior of Spirit Torch and a beacon light will illuminate the top mast of the torch structure. Spirit Torch was constructed using Corten steel, which is meant to patina. It's a popular building material in modern architecture, especially because the patina on the metal will take on different characteristics as it ages. The architects felt like the patina would be a good contrast to the stainless steel included in the project.

Is this thing going to burn natural Gas all the time? if so this is a big wast of our natural resources

All of the lighting on Spirit Torch will be LED. The exterior will be lit and an LED lamp will illuminate the top mast. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
