USPSA/IPSC technique just roll your upper body downward gun-side. Similar to rifle side prone but not as extreme, just enough to get your sight alignment with your regular grip arms out isosceles. Legs set as you would normally do for prone slightly compensated for being rolled up on one side. Your whole strong arm is planted on the ground very stable. No fatigue or sight alignment issues typical of the bent elbow elevated pistol technique. Same recoil management and sight tracking using two thumbs forward isosceles. Roll up on strong side to shoot around cover, roll up onto weakside to tuck back in.
