My advice to anybody that is hating on cfmoto, i suggest you ride one before drawing conclusions. I work at our local kawasaki and cfmoto dealer as parts and PDI, and while putting machines together i have never seen any issues no matter how minor, and the build quality is great. We sell more cfmoto side by sides and atvs than any other brand whether its new or trade in, and they dont go back to the shop for repairs or warranty any more than any of the other brands. In fact, i have never once seen a cfmoto motorcycle in the shop aside from coming in for services I've had my 800nk for the better part of this year, and i love it. I've never had any issues. As much as i love it, though, im probably going to trade it in for an ibex 450. I've discovered im a slow bike adv dad at heart 😂

At $9,990 Aussie Dollars over here, the 800NK Sport is less than $600 more than a Ninja 500. And that's out the door with 12 months registration thrown in, not your crazy US pricing where there's a bunch of add on costs. Personally, I'd pony up the extra $1,500 Dollarydoos to get the Advanced model with the steering damper as standard. And that motor is brilliant. I test rode it earlier this year in its ADV configuration & it was a real Jekyll & Hyde engine. Compliant & docile at low revs, but twist the throttle & you'll unleash the monster lurking within. And, my god that intake howl was addictive. It's a motor that you could easily use as a weekday commuter through the narrowest of roads in inner city traffic, like we have here in Sydney, and unleash hell on twisty mountain roads on the weekend. It's a stark contrast to my Aprilia Shiver that just wants to rip your face off straight out of the driveway. And, if I wasn't looking to try out a V4 for a year or 2 I'd ditch the Shiver for the 800NK in an instant.

@spitescorner Welcome the 800NK club! I recently purchased one from Maxim Honda Yamaha here in Allen, TX. I’ve been slowly upgrading mine with every OEM accessory available. I’ve also installed a de-cat pipe from Verex Tasmania. It’s slightly over $200 but worth it. I’ve also installed a Leo Vince LV One EVO pipe and with both combined, it almost sounds like a V-Twin. I do have an extra Leo Vince pipe, if you’re interested! The black/carbon fiber on the LV pipe matches the black color way on the 800 NK perfectly. Let me know if you’re interested, I’d be glad to help you out as far as the price is concerned!

Hey Spite, this is probably the first time I'm leaving a comment on a YT video in 10+ years. I just wanted to say that I own the Advanced version since April and it's an amazing bike. I'm a beginner and it was a bit scary in the first weeks because of the power, but now, 9 months later, I already have over 10.000 KM on it (6200 miles). I haven't had a single problem with it except for a dead battery that was replaced for free by the dealership (we get 5 years warranty in Europe which is insane). And you wanna know the best part? I paid 6000 dollars for it, brand new from the shop, 0 miles. There's not a single motorcycle on the used market at this price that can beat the NK. Amazing bike and very happy with it being my first bike ever, now I'm planning to buy a second CFMoto for touring the whole Europe with my girlfriend. Keep up the good work!

I have one of these and it's beautiful. Mine is a fun tool and my work horse as my missus has the car and I have the bike. I have a top box on mine for obvious reasons, and use it all year round in the UK and it holds up with expensive bikes in my opinion. Mine has done about 5000 miles since Feb this year and coming from a Triumph Explorer 1200 and I am very happy. You are right though it is a hooligan. When I commute it's versatile and smooth but when I twist my right hand omg does it let me know it wants to be ridden hard. I use the cruise control regularly and the roll off method I don't like as I have been trained to hold the throttle and switch off. This stops the engine braking and keeps you at the same speed and is more safer than the roll off method. Love your reviews and Love this bike. 😊

Super interesting 👍 I love honestly the shape of the exhaust over the 790 one. I think the biggest problem is the 790 exists. Dealers have some 2023 790 sitting for prices that will still come under this bikes price even after adding the tech package - so you end up about the same or under after adding the cruise control to the ktm and the steering dampener to the cf moto But - you have a ktm with better market value and 5 more hp (every bit counts) so 🤷‍♂️ (Not hypothesizing - bought a new 2023 790 earlier this year exactly because of that (with base price under the cf motos msrp. So out the door would have been the same)

In fact, I was so impressed I traded in my bought brand new 2021 Kawasaki Z900 RS Café for the MT 10 as soon as I did the demo day with it. That’s how good it is. I’m pretty sure this is gonna be my closer bike at 53 years old. I honestly can’t think of anything else that I would want. I’ve had it now for a year and a half, and it’s just freaking amazing. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about riding it. and at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters. After four decades of riding motorcycles, I finally found the one that is for me. And that’s a good thing because these type of bikes are going away. I’m glad I got to experience and own one.

Edit: I misheard the video so this comment is mostly irrelevant, but I leave it here as a reminder of my shame and as a warning to others to double check what their brain thought their ears were telling them before posting.🤦‍♂️🤪 14:12 Spite, that isn't a bug, it's a feature. Nearly all cruise control systems cancel when you hit the clutch or brakes, but don't when you hit the gas. That is intentional, since it allows you to twist the throttle and pass a slower moving vehicle without having to reset the cruise control after you get passed them, you simply let go of the throttle and continue cruising. Plus, you usually only want to cancel the cruise control when you need to slow down for some reason, so having it cancel by twisting the throttle is counterintuitive.

@@spitescorner I apologize, you are 100% correct. I thought I heard you say you wanted it to cancel when you "roll-on throttle" but after listening again you said you want it to cancel when you "roll forward on the throttle." That makes a whole lot more sense, and I agree that would be a handy feature for engine braking into corners or coming up to exit ramps. Also, congratulations to you (and your wife) on the new bike. Hopefully it gives you both plenty of worry free miles and fond memories.
@cubeover
@cubeover Ай бұрын
@@spitescorner well, what do you do after you open the throttle more, to overtake, if not "open it less" e.g. roll back? The second reason I would not want it behave like you asked, is that when you're going over bumps that throw you up the saddle while you're holding the throttle, it rolls back "by itself". The modern sensitivity may be quite precise so this can be quite annoying. Moreover, you are asking for a fourth way to disable it, having three other. I see a good intent and consideration by the manufacturer.

I managed to test ride the 800NK here in Taiwan. I was hyping it up so bad that when it comes to riding one, it was a huge letdown. Just to be clear, I'm viewing the 800NK through the lens of my XSR700 which only have 70HP. The 800NK's throttle response is just bad. It felt like there's a good 300~500ms delay between you twisting the throttle and anything happening. The gearbox sucks. Not sure if it's a problem specific to my bike or something, but going from 1st gear to 2nd gear took too much effort. and the biggest letdown: the bike doesnt pull harder than my XSR700. might be down to my excessive expectations, but i was assuming that going from 70HP to 100HP bike would be a significant upgrade. It's not. rode back home happy on my XSR700

I found some great carbon looking like crash bars, who fit very well to the overall design. Do you have the urge to change the levers? If you install the CFmoto app, it sends you a message to your mobile, if someone moves or sits on your bike, if you're not close. Kinda neat feature, I didn't know I would need and like ;) I ordered on Ali a steering dampener, let's see, how that feels, but couldn't find a reasonable cheap quick-shifter. Honestly im pretty sure the exhaust is V banded so removing the can or the bread box is super easy, in fact yoou could keep the can and remove the bread box and get a LOT of pluses out of it and keep the nice look but then again im not to sure what the after market ones look like on the bike itself so the after market might look okay but they could also look amazing...or just destroy the looks but still!

It depends on where the O2 sensors are, but you're right. It's one band clamp from header to cat, and a second from cat to muffler. I'd like to test link pipe and stock exhaust, link pipe and slip on and slip with cat. That'd be fun

I have a 2024 same bike. Is there any way to tune it at all do you know. The bad part about this bike is there is hardly any information out there about the bike or tearing it down for repairs or anything else that I have found yet. No, I don't plan on doing anything to it but tune it and maybe exhaust to sound better. I just like to know everything I can about the things I own so as if needed I could fix whatever went wrong. BTW I got the floor model from a dealership for under $7000. It had 20 miles on it from customers test riding it. Nothing wrong with it brand new 2024. Since I have owned it under a year I have found a few things that I personally don't much like but the bike is actually beautiful and yes you can pull the front tire, easily. Even my old Triumph speed 400 could pull the front tire, just sayin and it was pretty gutless. Thanks for the video.

@@alexprendido2023 on the Chinese site taobao there are 100% of parts for most CFmotos, they are sold by CFmoto itself and other sellers, for my 800nk I ordered plastic parts and some screws there, the main thing is that everything there is original and very cheap, yes you may have additional tax fees depending on the country but as in my case when there are no normal dealers of any brands in my country, and even if there was a dealer I would still order from China because dealers sell it several times more expensive, I have to order parts from China, It's good that in my country there is a tax only for goods over 1000usd, that i can get anything for bike without tax

My brother had a super cheap Chinese dual sport that was nowhere near the quality level of CFMOTO and he spent maybe a grand on it to get it used with 2k miles. He sold it at 10K miles with only the stator being worn out in the time he had it. The guy who bought it from him put another 15K miles on it and crashed it offroad, but even then it still was running, but insurance totaled it out. I get that some Chinese items are of poor quality, but not all. My CFMOTO 650 has been great so far. It's not the fastest or most fuel efficient, but I paid half of what the competition was charging.

The comment sections on cfmoto’s are always wild. Proud owner of a 450nk, bought it in august and already have 4200 on it. Aside from the saggy throttle cable, absolutely perfect bike so far. I’ve been going back and forth to work with it every single day even when it’s been 10 degrees here in Indiana with absolutely zero issues. Only quirk was not riding it for two days when it was that brutally cold and the breaks were just a bit clunky because they were basically frozen and were covered in ice. It’s definitely down on power for someone who’s comfortable and knows what they’re doing, but it’s been extremely reliable, it’s always a head turner and everyone wants to know about them at every meet I’ve been to, and it absolutely kills me that you have to pay $8,000+ for a bike that has a TFT display even remotely comparable to the 450ss/nk displays, they’re in a league of their own with how nice they are. Absolutely love mine and passing it to the wife as her beginner bike this spring while I eye the 700cl-x or a street triple.

They should make the 450 quality wise as good as the 800nk and I would have preferred it over my now 800. When I see pictures with seats who have wrinkles in it, and I also disliked the hump in the back. I would have paid a grand more if it looked like the 800 just with a smaller engine.
