Many thanks for the great video and explanation, just what was required.

Just the video I needed. You clearly show how the lower shaft wave washers are installed - I looked all over the internet and couldn't find this information as clearly as you have shown it, so that's great. The only info out there are exploded parts diagrams that are difficult to see clearly. Thanks.

Thanks! First time I tried to do this, I couldn't find any info online about it. Everyone else's just seemed to fall right out and mine never did.

Man. This video is awesome. I just picked one of these up yesterday. I didn't know what I had until I got home. I want to restore it. But in learning there's a gearbox and everything, it does seem very daunting. I'm gonna see if you have more videos on it. Ha. Thank you!

Very useful info! Bought a Walker-Turner wood/metal bandsaw several years ago, and have been holding off on rebuilding. Just the inspiration that I need.

Awesome video. Have you ever done a Jet gear box?
@precisionmachineshed4 жыл бұрын
No, I know after this style, delta went to a newer style gearbox with a sliding back gear system.

The gearbox takes a 1-1/2 quarts of oil?

I cannot remember. It sounds fairly close though.

I’ve never owned one of these or been up close to one, but couldn’t you have just unbolted it from the stand and slightly tilted the saw back to free the gear box from hitting the stand? Just going on visual here.

No, there is a cover on the back of the gearbox that hits the bottom. The stand doesn't interfere with the removal at all.
