I'd love to see a weather system implemented. Like storms and rain. It would create lots of waves and maybe wash away supplies. Would make the ocean darker for cool thematic looks. Fog could recover the area and make it harder to look for supplies. Also, some threats like pirates and mutated sharks that could eat your workers who are swimming for supplies. Would give us a noise cue to show us that the shark is coming, so you get a little of time. The workers on the ship could have a scream and point animation when the shark shows up lol.

The demand for wood has been insane the past year and it’s finally coming down cause the supply is finally coming back online. I wouldn’t be surprised if the wood delivered to the Home Depot was like that when it got there cause of demand. It’s kinda sad cause we’ve been having all sorts of problems with all our suppliers recently…

As soon as lumber suppliers saw a spike in demand with people being in lockdown and needing wood for at home projects they created a false scarcity and slowed their shipments so they could jack the prices up over 500% or higher in many places. It is insane.

Random interesting fact. A car alternator would not work well for a power generator unless you already have a supply of some voltage. As they have no fixed magnet and use a coil to generate an opposing field, without any starting current it is just metal coils effortlessly sliding past eachother, generating almost zero volts. So while not impossible to use, they require a complex wiring setup and most likely a bypass of the onboard PCB that most modern ones come with, plus some existing power to get started.

I remember trying this game out after watching your vid. It was rough and tough. I heavily disliked being under timer all the time, or how water processing required almost all of your starting time, because if you started destilling water bit later, you lost. NPCs also ignored crucial tasks over anything else, which was driving me mad. One even decided drinking water is overrated and just died of dehydration. Overall the game had quite narrow way of playing, which was limited to "do exactly those steps in that order to win". It didn't feel sandboxy at all, but rather a narrow canyon of freedom of choice in the sandbox. If that makes any sense. edit: i also made a thread about this, but got pretty much bashed away with 'git gut. gaem purrfect xd'

@KaleidosXXI3 жыл бұрын
"Progressing" isn't a very accurate phrase to describe this game's development, it's largely been the same thing for about 2 years. Rather than adding mechanical depth or content they just add taxes to everything, be it by splitting basic functions across multiple actions or by making actions require additional steps, everything is geared towards just making the game less streamlined to artificially inflate the gameplay loop without actually adding anything to it. There's been a few legitimate improvements, but a lot more filler.

this looks like it certainly could be a good game eventually.. needs to have something more added, mainly for me i'd say finding other people, some you can rescue and add to your crew, and maybe some others you can trade with or maybe (optionally) fight. being able to build your own flouting towns, but still leave the town with your boat to do other things could be great. i'm tempted to buy it just to support the development. good video, nice noticing the little details a lot of us probably would not have noticed.

I think the reason why people feel there's a lack of content is because the developer was focused on making sure the basic game mechanics worked. And the game mechanics has evolved drastically since it was first released in alpha. As Splatty mentioned, it moved from a roguelite to an actual city builder (which is my preference). I have revisited this game at least once a year to see how much it has progressed. And it being in alpha, I believe I am getting my money's worth because the developer is always passionately working on it. As far as the lack of content, this game is still in alpha. Don't buy into an alpha if you can't curb your expectations until full release.
@DoomedPaladin3 жыл бұрын
I'm really looking forward to the completed version of this game. Makes me wish I could wishlist it twice. I'd like to see some event elements in it too, something to break up the stress of resource management. Storms that damage or knock off parts of your "town," merchants to trade with, pirates that rob you of resources, merfolk that either help or fight you depending on your development, a red tide or jellyfish bloom that makes it dangerous to swim, "talking" dolphins and whales, etc.
