As much as I have issues with 2012 TMNT, especially when it came to writing certain characters, but it's version of Splinter is not one of them. He's a perfect combination of a wise mentor and disciplinary father.

Easily my favorite version of the character. 2012 splinter was the first one that felt like a dad to me and him having a previous life as yoshi adding so much to his character as he learned how to accept his new life and second chance at fatherhood. Being hilarious and a badass doesn’t hurt either

One of my all time favorite splinters, can't wait for the rise of the tmnt splinter episode!! I think he's one of the most interesting hamato yoshis in the multiverse, the turtles are his actual genetic offspring and I love the way they remix the lore.

I like the Rise version as well... I am still debating how I am going to cover it, since Shredder and Splinter share like 60% of the same story beats. I may do one about the Hamato clan instead.

@@TheTurtleNexus that would be so cool! A breakdown of the hamato clan in the rise universe would be very much appreciated, I feel like you could do a whole series breaking down the lore and world building of rise because there's so much presented that never really got to be expanded upon.

There is usually not much to cover about Tang Shen. For the Mirage version I recommend these videos in particular: "Who is The Mistress?," and "A Ghost story from the Turtles' past."

Correction, the only other version I could cover is the "Rise" version, but I am still trying to figure out how I am going to cover her story, as it is already very difficult to separate the Shredder from Splinter in that version. I may do a video on the Hamato Clan.
