Oops!!! Start by going out 9 blocks not 8, then do everything else the same. Not a huge deal either way, but apparently I miscounted at the very start & meant to build the back wall after the 8th block not on the 8th block. The rates weren't affected from the original one that I built, so I didn't even notice. But in theory it could be affected! So start with that back wall on the 9th block away from the chunk border not the 8th!

@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
Noiceeee. Yeah, creeper farms are okay.. but they are allot of work and you lose out on so many other items!! I've seen thumbnails that say 4k gp per hour, and there is absolutely no way that is true. I even did the math for it and that would have to spawn & kill an average of 10 creepers every spawn cycle (20 seconds) to even get close to 4k gp. The actual rates are going to be more around 2,000 gp per hour & that's only 400 more than a split density mob farm!! Even a single simple scaffolding farm gives around 800 gp per hour. Or a ghast farm is much easier to build and does actually provide 4k gp per hour!
@thedachmo2 ай бұрын
@@OmLeduThere are some super simple ones (like Oare's recent one) and more advanced ones such as Mike Homer's that use snow golems to aggro the creepers into a kill chute. Golden Helmet has a great design out too that uses pathfinding. The best ones use either or a combination of these two approaches to i) get the creepers into a kill chamber quickly ii) use advanced trap door based trident killers to kill them essentially instantly. Those rates are genuine - from those creators at least anyway. I've tested them myself both using their world downloads and building them in my own survival worlds and servers I play on. As an example I've built one tower of Mike Homer's 4 tower design and see a double chest + a few stacks and hour easily - and that's again with only ¼ of it built. If you want stacks and stacks of gunpowder, a gmf is just too slow. And there are better ways of getting the other drops if you want lots of those. But, if you want a 1 stop, 1 and done farm, then you can't really beat a gmf. Really depends on your priorities!
@thedachmo2 ай бұрын
The rates of 4k+ are absolutely realistic. There are 4 creators I can think off the top of my head whose designs I've tested and confirmed the claimed rates of around that. And most of these designs aren't really any more work than a gmf (in some ways less, as you don't have to worry about item sorting). If you want tons of gunpowder, then you want a creeper farm. But if you want a one stop farm for a bunch of different hostile mob drops, and you don't want to be building one farm for every drop you want, then gmf is the way to go, and this one is pretty good.

Great video and awesome information as to the functionality of the redstone. Curious: if someone was playing on sim distance 6, the rest of the farm would be built the same just higher? Could it also be expanded horizontally to include a second chunk of the spawner/trident killer (so 6 chunks across - also sim 6)? I’m still trying to figure out the difference in sim distances
@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
yusssss That is totally a thing! On sim 6 the spawn area is 24-128, instead of 24-44. Buuuut from 34-128 they can despawn if they don't take damage every 30 secs. From testing this one I noticed that layers are more important than width though, so just adding layers as they are should increase the rates. But this design also seemed to hit the mob caps fairly often, so wouldn't increase it by a ton. OH! But on sim 6 you can make quad density farms!! like build 2 more 4 chunks away from the edge of the current 2. That would make the rates explode haha Because each density area would be getting roughly the same rates :o But would also prolly need to remeasure stuff and make each farm like 1 or 2 chunks wide...

Think you could make a “__(any number) farms you need in your bedrock world” type of video?
@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
I've wanted to make one of those videos! But I want to get all the designs made 1st haha. IMO iron farm/ trader and mob farm are the only 2 important ones, anything past those is specialized. They are the 1st 2 things I build on any world. Even a small mob farm gives you enough gp for rockets, string for scaffolding, and bones to quick grow some plants. Village trader gives you best food, best xp, blocks, gear, redstone, enchants, etc etc etc. With those 2 farms you have all the basic necessities. Bamboo would be 3rd since it makes chests, trapdoors, sticks, even charcoal. Fully AFK source of wood. Then like specialized farms to help with specific goals. Need black dye? Squid farm. Want to build tons of farms that use coral fans? Coral farm. Tridents? Drowned farm. Etc etc. & some specialized farms are slower than just gathering that thing by hand, like moss or mud is 100x faster to gather by hand. Lastly, allot of people say raid farms are the best. But I say they are redundant. Everything they give you can be gotten from villagers much faster, except totems. But even totems, how many do you really need? I basically only keep 3 totems and don't pop them very often, so just fighting 1 raid without a farm gives me those totems & is kind of fun..
