@Andrew Lang, Kevin wasn't just "an original employee of SCAT" he was the Chief Engineer, During his time working for SCAT over 6,200 craft were built, its the equivalent of asking Orville Wright to build your Airplane! Kevin obviously knows his stuff and is a very capable engineer. It's also obvious that Kevin is passionate about hovercraft and knows the pitfalls and safety of going fast in a hovercraft. If there's one person who should build your Scat hovercraft for you, it has to be Kevin and I hope that Cletus joins the hover club of America and starts to race SCAT hovercrafts with Kevin as builder and Chief Engineer. Smiles and fun!

This video brought back a flood of good memories for me... I had the pleasure of working with / for Chief Engineer Kevin when I was employed as SCAT's test pilot / flight instructor / craft demonstrator during the transition from belt drive to gear drive and the development of the SCAT II. Unfortunately I moved out of state right before the SCAT II was released and before SCAT went racing. Kip, Kevin, Guillermo and I worked extremely hard to make the SCAT II a much better - more refined craft than the original, and I believe we succeeded.

Crossing public roads on it, when you are 12 on a 1980's FREAKING HOVERCRAFT is literally a 6th grade wet dream! 'Cleetus McFarland' is exactly the sort of name I'd expect from a hovercraft pilot, and I wouldn't trust anyone with a lesser title to be a master of the craft.

Ah come on guys that's kinda mean! He's just an old timer that hasn't been able to be passionate about hovercrafts to anyone new in a very long time I'll bet. He's got all this knowledge, and is so passionate about these things... I think he was just suuuper excited to share with Cleet, someone else who was interested in hovercrafts too. "loves the sound of his own voice" sounds like he's a self absorbed piece of shiest... He did all this for Cleet, took his time to come out and give him all those pointers and advice. I don't think this man is self absorbed... Idk, just my thoughts.
