I guess I can understand someone having no clue that something that strange would turn on a bird, mostly because I haven't owned a bird and find it cruel so I haven't looked up any articles on how to birb but I can only assume most articles don't mention the arousal thing, but I don't get her doubling down. Like, a normal person would see that and look it up and then go "oh my god I had no idea! thank you for telling me. I'm so sorry I did that. I'm going to delete the TikToks where I do that so younger people don't think it's okay to do." because that's what a responsible pet owner would do.

Thank you for including the part about her bird, that’s really fucking gross. African Greys (her parrot) are one of the most intelligent species, but all parrots are very emotionally intelligent. Most parrots have the mental capacity of a 2-5 year old human for their entire lives. They self harm when stressed. They learn routines and enjoy fulfilling them with you (my parrotlet loves doing skincare with me!). Inducing/encouraging hormonal behavior can lead to aggression (because you’re basically giving the bird mixed signals) and overall stresses the bird out. It’s so gross to see people mistreat these intelligent, complex animals. Hopefully the rest of her husbandry is better fit. Not to mention, parrots are EXPENSIVE. If you’re not rescuing, they’re easily 2,000-5,000 dollars for just the bird. Not mentioning the cage, the fresh food daily, the toys, the vet care. And they live to 60 with proper care. Yeah or just pets in general, anyone can literally walk into a pet store and buy a living creature without doing any type of research. People can really just decide "okay, I'm gonna go right now to the pet store and buy a hamster even though I haven't thought about this decision for literally more than 10 minutes and I have no idea how to care for or any knowledge of this animal" and they don't even need to have an enclosure or anything. Some pet stores are obviously better and don't just sell pets to anyone but the fact that it's legal for someone to sell a pet to someone without any background check or anything, it's horrible. And it's so common too for people to impulse buy an animal, especially small pets like rodents or fish, not to mention that it's normalised to have horrible inaccurate care for these small creatures.
@sillyguy70342 жыл бұрын
@@TootMCT yeah and the problem behind this is the breeding business. So many pets are bred as a product to sell and if licences were required, they wouldn't sell their “product” as easily meaning so many pets go to unprepared owners, or they don't get a home at all. It's really gross :/

People are more lenient over jokes because it's not serious/it's a type of fiction. If you are actually doing it it's no longer fiction and no longer counts as 'just a joke'.
