You shouldn't let them use a water bottle. It can chip Ferrets teeth, so I recommend using a small bowl for your water like you do for the food. Ferrets also need a raw diet. If you can't afford it you should at least get a duck neck, and use a blender to crumble up the food you use and sprinkle it on the meat. If you do they'll start being more active.
