I hope you see this comment & take it seriously: You may want to keep a thermos of water under your bed next to the alarm clock & drink a full glass *before you begin exercising. Your body becomes dehydrated overnight and many if not most strokes and heart attacks (& deaths) could be avoided by hydrating before bed and upon waking. Btw, I learned this after my big brother, aka Hero, survived a severe stroke one morning that left him unable to speak or use the right side of his body. I wish everyone would practice this simple prevention routine.

I made minor changes to this routine and it helped me get out me away from my depressed self. I didn’t know this video but what this due says is absolutely right. Couldn’t live my life anymore, it was so boring and not worth to live for. What you have to do seems so simple yet it changes so much more than your brain can even imagine (I am not exaggerating. You can literally not imagine it. What I did for half a year was: - I woke up. Stood up immediately. We do not argue with that brain that tells you to be a little bitch and that it’s better to fall back asleep. - I immediately went for a walk. Look near the sun to get bright sunlight in your eyes to further activate your circadian rhythm. Try to not think about stuff that is important on that walk. Be in the moment. Pick a route that takes you about 10-15 minutes start to finish. Your brain is fired up the whole day so it will need some time to readjust to the new routine. Be gentle to yourself and the best thing you can do is to just let your brain ponder without concentrating during these early minutes of the day. - after the I brush my teeth and get a cold shower. This shit will activate the fuck out of your nervous system and you will be loaded like a spring. - I’ll get something nice to eat afterwards. This boils down to personal preference. A good diet is mandatory to be your best version but I hate breakfast so I keep it simple with oats and some form of protein which will keep me saturated for a while. - then I start deep work. It’s most rewarding if you love your job obviously but if you hate your current job and feel lost try this: For this to work you must be extremely bored. Borderline bored even. It must be so bad that you want to do anything but staying bored. In addition you must set boundaries. You can not do things that give you easy dopamine hits. Can’t use your phone. Can’t watch KZbin or TV. Nothing that gives you an easy dopamine hit. You will end up doing something weird like carving wood or painting or something along these lines. Just get yourself so bored, that you can’t imagine something better than to read a book or carve a spoon. Do this a few days and really embrace this boredom. It is honestly the best that could happen to your brain after this constant stimulation for years. During this time always keep in mind what of the things you are doing could be turned into a business. Think about if you could sell the spoons you carve or if you would actually love to teach somebody how to ski. There is no boundary set. Just think. It’s your brain you want to make happy so it has to be your brain that figures out a solution. - so now you got your dream occupation. From now on it’s easy work. - after the deep work I hit the gym and I embrace the moments where my brain wants to stop because it “burns” and I tell my body to do 2 more reps. Your brain is a muscle (literally) - muscles adapt to stress - if you stress your discipline it will grow. So to maintain this beautiful cycle even though you are feeling tired you have to be disciplined well and you have to set your long term happiness over short term gratification. Pushing yourself in the gym has more benefits than I could count. - I hit the gym in the evening because it is scientifically proven, that the human body is statistically stronger in the evening. It’s awful to train when you are not feeling strong and around 5pm I feel the strongest so that’s when I hit the gym. - I read and go to bed at around 9-10pm. This is personal preference as well but do not exceed 12pm. This is just a rule of thumb based on the fact that melatonin is typically released by your body at around 9-10pm and you should use that to get the best sleep architecture/efficiency. This is a whole different topic though. I spent 50 minutes writing this and I hope that you, whoever reads this fully, will try this method for happiness. I bet you my life that this will lead you in the perfect direction towards your one personal happiness.

If you leave the bed it's a matter of minutes before one starts calling, waking up the others. There are no 30 minutes. Lots of people try to hack the moment they wake up by not getting back to sleep, I haven't heard anyone mention getting a very thin mattress (a shikibuton or similar) for your sleep. Good for your back and sleep, but not cozy enough that you want to stay there once you wake up. And unless you get a bed base or something else for elevation, you'll be already on the floor and can do some pushups 😏

@Gigusx5 ай бұрын
@@draker67 Yes! Many cultures sleep in generally different circumstances to a western-style bed, and surprisingly many people even directly on the floor. In the west it's less common since we prioritize comfort a lot more than function (= more padding, thicker mattresses, etc., which can actually contribute to back pain later on). Personally I've "started" over a month ago and tried 2 ways so far - first a hammock and now a Thai-style (kapok) 5cm thick mattress. The hammock was amazing for lounging but I didn't like sleeping in it, and it's definitely something you could find staying in after you wake up. The mattress I find better for just sleeping and then getting up, and I'm going to stick with it for now.

It's also worth mentioning that they're so hard that getting into your bed wouldn't bother any person already sleeping there, unlike the foamy ones where the entire mattress moves when you sit/lie on it. A youtuber Samera Abroad recorded a few videos on switching to a (single) futon as a couple and mentioned this.

@@manaegeneva it was the same for me until one day I tried a routine that worked for the first time. I’m a night owl but I rly tried this time to start waking up early. Next to my alarm clock across the room I leave a cup of water and a cold towel before sleeping. When I wake up, the first thing I do when I turn the alarm off is drink the water and splash my face with cold water which wakes me up fully, so there’s no temptation to go back to bed. I listen to a podcast to sleep and keep the phone under the bed, so when I wake up it’s out of sight and hard to get to. This means after I drink the water and wash my face, I go straight downstairs and start my pomodoro timer on my laptop and start studying. Loving your content. Smart, creative, logical…. My morning is much as described, although not in the same order. I go to bed at 8 and wake up between 4 and 5. I allow myself to hit the snooze button once, however I’m only allowed to sleep an extra 5 minutes if I’m actually still in sleep mode. As a writer, I’m not too physically active while working, thus I take morning workouts seriously, pushing myself hard in the gym. I’m creating a better looking body as a result, but it’s the health benefits that will keep me going for the rest of my life. I recommend face exercises too, which people often overlook, and something I’ve been doing since I was young.

Cold shower for 30 days makes people less likely to call off work due to sickness. I usually call off work because I’m sick of that shit, but I’m fine. Just need a “ME” day

My adhd has me by the throat... as soon as I open my eyes, my body still hasn't processed it being awake. I had to buy a bunk bed, build a ladder and put my alarm clock on the otherside of my room just to force myself out of bed.... I'm already losing this battle because climbing up and down the ladder isn't difficult anymore and I can just crawl back in bed. Now I'm trying to train my dog to get used to walking in the morning so his cute face motivates me to go outside and walk him. Wish me luck!

This guy is actually a genius. I don't know what it is about his videos that just simplify how to become a literal queen/king in just a few steps???!!!! Gonna preach about him to my friends so we can wave at squirrels in the morning together

Counterpoint: it's not conducive to a good productive morning to be jolted from a sound sleep by a loud, jarring noise you have to hunt down and kill. Adrenaline is not the wake-up chemical; cortisol is. Waking up into a supposed state of emergency creates stress. The best way to wake up is naturally, if possible. Otherwise, some sort of alarm that connects with a biohacking device that tracks your sleep cycles so that it wakes you up when you're in a very shallow sleep is best. I agree no snooze, but I also see a lot of value to a languid morning stretch and a little time relaxing outdoors with a book instead of just pounding out pushups. The same thing isn't going to work best for everyone. And that cold shower? Those can be nice indeed, but if the only point is to activate your sensory receptors and flood the brain with sensation, why not a hot shower or just a few pokes with a cattle prod? I think science has more to say about the effects of cold, specifically.

Honestly I’ve made a routine to set my alarm 15 min earlier to make my brain think that I got more rest even though I’ve planned to get up at the time I do. It’s definitely helped a lot

I definitely recommend the cold shower for lifting your mood. Also have a shot of espresso just before. If you're depressed, just try this for at least 5 days.

Shocking yourself out of sleep, is extremely unfavorable for your nervous system. Read Mathew Walker's Why We Sleep.
@1uc1235 ай бұрын
He's suggesting to wake up with your alarm, which you probably have anyway @Nithink_Tank , and then do some HIIT to wake up the body as opposed to coffee. It's the same rush but it's not fuelled by the rush of adrenaline you get when you sleep too late :P

You totally watch Ryan Doris lmao that’s awesome 😎 Love your work btw. I’ve been recognizing how all of this is your own way of engaging in personal creativity & self-expression. I see the mental architecture you’ve constructed and how it’s all engineered by cognitive frameworks you’ve developed by using real scientific research as a foundation. It’s a very unique design model you have and I’m grateful to be here experiencing it. Thanks for sharing yourself with us!

If your a heavy weight lifter in the gym, I don’t recommend having a cold shower after your workout. Either have a cool shower, or have the cold shower before you workout

Very true! However, the thing about accommodation is adjusting existing systems and expectations to suit your needs. If you feel up to it, pick one thing that feels easy but you often avoid-- like, just wash three dishes. Pick up 5 things around the house. Stuff like that. OR start out with the task you're most eager to do and ride that sense of satisfaction to get started on your day. I think tweaking things a little to suit your needs definitely isn't going to make or break the positive aspects of this routine.
