Costa Rincon vs. Rinconcito | SportRx

I’m only just seeing this video, but I once owned a pair of Rincons. My one year old loves playing with my shades and so I haven’t seen those in months. I was in the process of replacing those when I stumbled across the Rinconcitos. Ordered a pair, and I prefer them over the Rincons. They’re truer to size for my head and have an overall better fit. PS, these are staying for out of reach of the little guy.

My friend has a pair and when I tried it- I did not want to let go of it. It is an amazing pair of glasses. It fit me perfectly! I have an older pair of Costas and they are way too old. I just ordered a pair of these Rincons (not the Rinconcito) and cannot wait to get them. My trout fishing adventures are getting ready to be improved by 100 times!

I have a very big head. Friends call me jug head at times. I much prefer the Reconcito. It’s what I wear. I operate a D9 dozer on stock piles 10 hrs a day and fish all weekend. Riconcito always on !!!! Worth every penny !

My 16 year son did not follow the "On your face or in your case so you don't have to replace" He broke his Nike Maverick Free which he wears everyday and for baseball. How does the Costa Riconcito compare to the Nike Maverick RGE , sizing and for sports

Just had to send a brand new pair of Rinconcito's back. One of the stems would rotate right and left on the hinge. Felt like a $10 pair of sunglasses that I bought at Lowes recently. I really hated that because I really like the style and size. Contacted Costa and they told me to take them to Lense Crafters so they could look at them, (1) I don't have a lense crafters by me (2) I shouldn't have to do that with a brand new pair of glasses that I just paid a lot of money for. So I sent them back and ordered a second pair, hopefully the second ones they send me are better. If not, I'll send those back on their dime and continue to rotate through my Oakleys.

I have a pair of the Oakley’s Holbrook XL and I love them. I would like to know the difference in the dimensions of the Holbrook XL vs Rinconcito Costa’s. By the way I think your videos are really helpful and great! Thank you for that.

Rinconcito. I noticed on your the right arm it doesn't say rinconcito. My pair says rinconcito in between costa and CE on the right arm. What's up with that?

If the Rinconcito's are smaller then why is the nose piece bigger/wider? This doesn't make any sense to me. I noticed one person commented below on how the smaller version feels bigger so maybe that's why. Rinconcito(S) - 13.5mm Rincon(L) - 13mm I look forward to hearing from you guys, I love your reviews. Hi! The comparison can feel different depending on individual face shapes. The Rinconcitos bridge is 1mm wider than the Rincon. Though the Rincon frame is wider overall (137mm vs. 131mm) with a wider & taller lens and longer temples. Hope this helps! 😎

Hey Devin! The Rincon is about 5 mm wider compared to the Rinconcito. But we had the same initial thought when we first got the Rincocnito in the showroom. The biggest difference is the lens size. The Rincon lenses are much wider and taller.

It seems like many Costa reviews on Amazon say they are cheap, flimsy, fall apart. Does anyone know if they are most likely fakes, and why can’t Amazon stop it? I would think Costa would not want the bad reviews. I guess one way to tell is the hinges, another whether or not the lens are stamped with 580p/g

I would stay away from ordering a pair of Costa's on Amazon. My pair of Rincon's get abused on the daily and are still with me almost four years later. Quality is definitely not an issue, look into getting glass lenses if longevity is a concern.

@@justinp6307 I had a couple Costa Jose's in 580g. One of the lenses shattered in place and it wasn't cheap sending them in for replacements, and scratched and eventually lost the other. I've bought a couple quality sunglasses thru amazon lately with similar fits as the Costa's I like, and they cost 18-35 bucks. For someone like me that scratches, smashes, loses glasses way too often, it is extra painful when they cost $220+ originally.

Are the lenses on the rinconcito easy to change?

Hey Brandon! The glass lenses can be difficult to change while the polycarbonate lenses are easier. We'd recommend taking them to a local optical store and they should be able to help if you want to swap lenses. Hope this helps!

That's a good question, Trevor! As of now, we have not heard of Costa releasing a full Tortoise Rincon. We will make sure to speak with our friends at Costa and see if there are any plans in the future for a tortoise Rincon.
