On the Marchand thing , the guy in stripes was the linesman and he can't call penalties. He could have mentioned something to the actual ref and then they could have paid more attention. However, not fair to shout at the linesman for not making a call he isn't allowed to make.

Ok, I almost completely agree about the Krug fight dang-it. The real dang-it from that is for Daniel Vladar. It's your first NHL action, and you are thrown into the net while the team in front of you is playing quite possibly their worst game of the season. I feel bad for the guy because, all things considered, he played pretty well.

according to the nhl rules, if a ref accidentally runs into a player or vice versa, play continues. I guess it’d be kind of a dang it on the ref for accidentally running into the player in the first place, but if you were saying it’s a dang it because of the call, it’s not

I don’t deny Marchand was in front of “an” official. But linesman are unable to make that call, unless it’s major worthy. I do hope that if the back referee saw the incident he would have made the call. I am in no way advocating that what Marchand did was right or legal and he should be penalized for his childish behavior.

Steve, have you never seen how many times marchand gets into a scuffle, does less, and gets more penalties. Refs are very biased against marchand. Or when he gets a stick in the area and called for a trip when the guy loses an edge. There are so many instances where I'm thinking most every other player gets away with what he does, i guess maybe a few times he gets away with something but that's in lieu of who he is not because of it.
