I always go for spots with side shooters... for me, distance is more important than floods. I'm low budget and have a few pairs of Harbor Freight Spots

On the front of my Unimog I have only Classic spotlights. The headlights are upgradesd to H4 over a duplo bulb. Above my cabin I have Classic Hella Rally Lights. They start where my headlights stop. And for really far I have a classic german rescue/firetruck spot which is 27cm diameter 😃 I love the Hella rescue lights they are so iconic! 😍 But as reverse light I installed a cheap 24led lightbar and 2 4led side lights. Classic in the front. And practical in the rear. A tow truck driver was impressed by my light setup 😁

Thanks for explaining, great video. I might have missed it but are there any benefits for light bar mounted on bullbar instead of roof?

Having the roof lights downward you are getting reflection off the hood. I had a friend that had a light bar on his truck, he was getting to much reflection of the hood. Here in Canada they are not allowed for highway driving

Quite interesting approach. I just watched a video from KC and other from Ken Block (RIP). Both of those videos said rood mounted lights were for high speed offroading. Of course I get your point, but it gets me thinking a bit about the different aproaches. I actually have my spots under my grille wired to my high beams to get a much brighter light when I need a bit extra light ON ROAD. Now, my application is on a large Express Van that travels on roads once a week and often needs some extra light due to lack of public ilumination on those roads and highways. And I was looking to find a video on the difference between using a roof mounted lightbar vs roof mounted spot lights in terms of performance. Any advice on that? I'm planning to get either a 50" light bar or 10 individual 3" cube spots.

So it’s better to have combo beam of spot and wide or spot and flood for bumper for on road use? Is there a led light bar, that is a wide beam pattern for SAE compliant? @ReadyToDriveAnywhere
