It's great when you fix something for a lot less than the quote. Must think about fitting an aux heater to mine.

Do you have a link to the contoller, which you purchased from ebay or a technical name or model number, so that I may order it or one similar? I would like to do the same modification to my Sprinter. Thanks. When I first had my T1N Sprinter, it was very cold, and I heard the ticking of the pump followed by the "jet engine" sound. I thought it was a ticking time bomb and as the sound changed it's pitch as it was reving/winding up, it sounded as if it was all leading to an explosion!. I had no idea, that it had an auxiliary water/coolent heater, and I'll have to admit, that it made me anxious if not altogether frigntend. I actually exited the van, just in case! After some research, I discovered what it was, and that in freezing weather, the engine is subject to warm up too slowly or even run too cool without the assistance of this heater. Thank you for posting this, because my Sprinter's only equipped for the auxiliary heater to turn on passively, when the sensor behind the front bumper senses, that it's cold enough outside, and I would like the option of turning it on at will, so that I can heat my van, without running the engine. From what I understand, various models with this heater have different options on how it can be used in conjunction with a timer/controller on the dashboard, but mine doesn't have this option.

Hiya www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184638439248 This is the link to the one I bought. It says £29 but I sent them an offer of £20 and they accepted. I added a relay to the red and black wire that go to the motor so it triggers the relay. The water circulation pump is then wired to the relay. That's the easiest way i found to turn on the water pump. If you need any more help let me know. Kevin

The eBay link is not working now, do you have a part number for the module? I can get a free heater off a '11 sprinter and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work in a non Mercedes. Any idea where I would find the info on what wiring I would need to do? Thanks!

Hi, have you a wiring diagram for this conversion.

I suppose you dont fancy doing another video showing how you wired it up

Whoa. Smart thinking. This is really good. I see you've wired it to operate with the engine off. Have you also wired it so that the blower works? Lots of chat on the sprinter source forums on this topic lean towards "hacking" the factory auxiliary heater to operate as a diesel heater for camping... as I'm sure you're aware. But only twinned with your modification would it be possible to control the KW output of the auxiliary heater. Please please please go into a little more detail on your method? Would love to replicate on my own sprinter.
