Expecting mine to arrive by midweek, from AliExpress £28 no SD card , brought a 256gb and put the spruce os on and roms ready to go when it arrives 👍😄

I got my own collection but it was only an extra $5 for a 128gb card so eh 🤷‍♂️ Really looking forward to it tho, this will be my travel device... and I trave a LOT.

Spruce is awesome, and easier to download than the stock card from Miyoo.

Also just letting you know WiFi causes slow downs every few seconds, not sure if it's affected yours or you not noticed but this is a bug with the firmware, confirmed by spruce os programmer

I haven't seen a problem yet. My load may be a little lighter as I removed so r things I don't need. Did it to free space but easily could help with that. Spruce isn't being nice to me with Netplay sometimes but no OS runs it that well

This happened with mine, but just if Wifi is turned on and none connections are up. when i'm on the road without access to my wifi, i just turn it off and it's fine.

Still an issue, but like you guys said, just turn off wifi if you're not connected to an AP and the slowdowns stop.

So this firmware has overclock enable by default, does that mean that the console gets hot or the battery runs out faster?

In some cases where it needs overclock it does. It doesn’t get any hotter than normal and I haven’t noticed a difference in battery life

I'm just frustrated that the online updater in retroarch doesn't work in spruce.

Understandable. I’m not sure why that hasn’t been figured out out yet. Maybe in a future update… which won’t be done OTA 😒

Hello friend, can you give me a hand with the BIOS topic? I don’t need you to guide me towards them or provide them. After years and years dedicated to emulation, I already have all the necessary BIOS. But I have doubts about where to put them. Should they go in the RetroArch folder or in the main BIOS folder? Should they be placed in subfolders with the system names inside the BIOS folder? I’m talking about Spruce OS 2.3, which I believe is the most current version. I’m asking for help because everything on the SpruceOS GitHub is very confusing and I can’t find that information. Should they follow the same scheme as the RetroArch System folder, and would it work to simply copy them to that System folder, inside the BIOS folder on the SD card I’m preparing for the SPRUCE OS system? Thanks a lot!

This I can do. In the meantime Retroarch already includes all the bios files you will need to run the system. The additional bios files are going to be for standalone emulators.

How do MAME games display by default of this system? Do we have to hold the console vertically or can we play them horizontally?

You can play horizontal with vertical as an option

I installed he firmware, later tried to install Spruce, it showed the Spruce logo and then turned off. The Miyoo was still charging with its cable. I turned on again and Spruce was running itself BUT once is done the menu screen shows ONLY words: "favorites, games, apps, settings". I follow the steps from Github. Any idea what's going on?? My card is a Sandisk Ultra Plus 256gb. Thank you

It sounds like you are missing the system files. Would be difficult to be the case however when you are seeing spruce boot up. Maybe a theme issue?

@@CellPhish Thank you for your reply. After so many tries, finally the Miyoo stopped charging and turned off by its own... I asked for a return and was accepted. Tomorrow will buy another one in person living near by but was still doubting if getting one again. Since it's for a gift I think it will be okay but I keep for myself the MM+ for sure.

U know when u buy the miyoo a30 do you have to buy the micro sd card (for the old OS) or can you just buy the miyoo a30 without the micro sd card and just buy a new 128gb micro sd and add all the roms/gamds

You could buy one without a card that’s what I typically do. Normally they will come with a card without ROM w/ the current OS and that’s all

​@@neocaubaI just bought one on AliExpress and it came with a 64gig no name card. It was preloaded with roms and bios files. I hear those cards are garbage and should be replaced, but I loaded mine with spruce, and it's running great. I will still be ordering a more trusted brand card for it eventually. If I order another, I'll make sure it doesn't have a card, and just have one preloaded with spruce.

So has anyone gotten Pokémon emerald or any GBA Rom files to work on this little guy, was hoping it could be my way to relive good times with Pokémon games but I’ve had no luck with the a30 no gba rom file out of box and I’m in need of spruce, just wondering if anybody was able to play Pokémon emerald or any game boy advance games though

@@CellPhish no it’s not the ROMs I just do have a GBA file in the SD card the a30 came with so I made one but it doesn’t show up, I haven’t really tried again but I will tonight or Monday if I figure out what to do ?
