That’s actually amazing that you sent it in for warranty work and in addition to replacing parts and making it better than it was THEY SENT YOU A BRAND NEW KNIFE!?! I have a used and beat on stainless handled police with a spyder edge that I should send in for warranty work now

I have had 5 over the years. One of mine is almost 16 years old. Still better than most. It will last forever. Cold Alberta winter or fish slime it never slips either. Easy maintenance like you said as well. Titanium pocket clips are the only thing I replaced on 2 over the years, somewhere in Montana I think it was. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the kind words! Yea I’ve never seen anyone close the knife that way haha, kinda kills the argument saying that you have your fingers in the way of the blade path when you close the knife👍

It’s basically the one folder to rule them all. Yes, plenty of folders have better steels, but they are more expensive and harder to sharpen. Yes, plenty of knives are more robust, but how often do you need to baton with a folder? Lots of folders do lots of things better, but the Endura is the ultimate in folding knives as general purpose utility tools that anyone can afford and maintain.

I've had a Zome green one, for a while, and the pattern bugged the hell out of me, after day one.. I've recently RIT dyed it black, and now it's absolutely fantastic,, I prefer tip down carry, for larger knives, your thumb is straight onto the blade hole...

Just bought my first Spyderco. Picked up a blue Delica. I am liking it alot because it is very slicey and I don't mind the lockback design. I have other more fidgety blades like a Civivi elementum and a Benchmade 940 but I still am glad I added the Delica to my collection. I'm probably gonna get a compression lock spyderco with better steel sometime soon but for now I am happy.

Here the little brother - Delica 4. Many years of use. Small hands so it fits better. Also VG-10, so needing honing up often. Two years i got another Delica 4, but in K390. Edge retention is off the charts, but needs oil, if food prepping: semi stainless. Never had the need to sharpen it...

Worn out after only 4 years. Doesnt sound good for a knife that is listed for 136$ now. I would like to know how long a cheap Opinel that is under 10$ would hold up on you! What I dont like on the Endura construction is that the spring of the back lock just sit in a FRN frame. But it looks like it isnt a problem.

I wouldn’t say wore it wore out, since it still worked and the lock still kept the blade from closing. But it definitely needed some maintenance. And WOW $136!? That is crazy.

I have had the Endura 4 (drop point blade, VG-10 steel) for 5 or 6 years now. Was out on the boat the other day and lost it, bought a new one next day (Endura 4, Wharnecliffe blade, K390 steel). Then I found my original one! Sweet! Now I have two. Overall best knife I have owned. I'm interested to see how I like the K390 steel and the Wharnecliffe blade; so far I like both better.

If you use a ceramic rod and strop you won’t have to sharpen as often
@Gieszkanne
@Gieszkanne Жыл бұрын
Why?
@nickallen8333
@nickallen8333 Жыл бұрын
@@Gieszkanne It’s how you touch up and maintain an edge. Taking it to the stones removes a lot more material than needed to hone an edge in decent condition back to sharp. VG10 will touch up so easily on a ceramic rod and only needs to be taken to the stones for a reprofile when I gets damaged or very dull. Even steels like S30 will come back several times after passes on the rod and denim. If you do get a ceramic get a quality one they aren’t too expensive. I like the lansky medium grit that’s grey.

Well I am looking to buy a Spyderco Endura 4 pocket knife from Bass Pro Shops online. They have 2 Spyderco Endura 4 pocket knives one with lightweight FRN. The regular Spyderco Endura 4 is $110.00 Dollars. And the Spyderco Endura 4 with Lightweight FRN is $100.00 Dollars. But right now I have the Cold Steel American Lawman Lockback pocket knife. With A 3.5 inch CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade. And the Triad Lock.

I watched this video because I wanted to see a review from someone who actually USED the knife long term, as in years, not days or weeks. I bought my first Spyderco a little over a year after they first came out. (Delica-Clipit), still have it. Followed by a Police and an Endura in short order so I've carried them really, really long term and can't disagree with anything in the review. My only observation is that, perhaps, stropping the blade instead of constant resharpening may be an option to extend sharpening intervals. I do think the price has gotten completely out of hand. The Endura should sell for no more than $49, and that's pushing it. Comparable materials and quality from other manufacturers tells me that is a sufficient price point to make a reasonable profit. The rest is just price gouging. For instance, the Steel Will Cutjack is very similar, adds a flipper tab and an arguably longer lasting blade steel. Fortunately, these knives are available in huge numbers on the used market. I'll never pay Spyderco's markup again.
@Cooldibs

I agree! The price is too high for the materials it offers. I should try stropping out👍 glad you enjoyed the video!

I've had endura through 3 different types of pocket clips. I had the first model with a metal clip. The problem was it was screwed into plastic. Lost about 2 of them. Then it had a plastic clip. That broke also. I stayed away for years then about 6-7 years ago I got the Emerson endura I still have it. VG10 does good for me. It's a great knife. I'm just not a fan of spydercos new prices. I believe they use blade steel as a gimmick. When in truth there is very little difference. Unless you cut paper. Real world I'll take easy sharpening over needing diamond stones. I carry a coldsteel broken skull cts-xhp. It's a much better knife. Better design all around.
