Squarebody 6.2 diesel manual glow plug conversion

did that starter solinoid used to have a clip? i have the same one in my suburban that would work with the key ..now when i turn the key forward to engage the glow plugs i get nothing so i jumped the solinoid from the battery side to the side that goes to the glow plugs the glow plug dummy light comes on but i get no solinoid thud….but when i give the pink wire 12 volts i get the thud but no dummy light .do you think it’s the solinoid ?

Sounds like your solenoid needs replaced

What if you want a manual switch AND want to use the glow plug controller too?

You just keep the controller plugged in

Doing a manual conversion on mine currently. After wiring in the manual switch, is it necessary to keep the connections to the original controller, or is it fine to remove it? Thanks for the video!
