Dillon XL750 - Bottleneck bulk loading setup

Looking at how I hav my Dillon tool head setup to get the most accuracy while having the ability to process quickly.

Really good video and the one with the 1500 case trim. All reloaders are crazy and I can tell that you are no exception. You probably wake in the middle of the night wondering if you missed annealing a cartridge. I have 13 grandchildren aged 13 - 25 and they all shoot so we use A LOT of ammo. I don't have the luxury of doing boutique batches of cartridges for super accuracy so I just stay with my Dillon 550 and get through them as quickly as I can. You will never convince me that neck lubbing is necessary. If I get to that point, I will use yours and Cortina’s videos for super precision. Your video and others have really helped me “up” my game for consistency, quality and safety while maintaining volume. Thank you again and I mean that.

Thank you for video. I just sold my Xl750, with a bullet feeder. The bullet feeder does not speed up the operation, as you can keep up with your hand, same speed. The limiting factor is really if you go too fast, you will spill powder out of case from the shaking action. Bullet feeder works good though, and lets you work out your left arm too. LOL I like the TAC powder, that is one of the better powders for 223. Probably nothing meters better than it, but many meter similar to it. I prefer for mass FMJ bullets, for practice, Accurate 2230 is good too, top tier. I only recommend Xl750 for people that have like 50k primers on hand, and shoot like thousands a rounds a month. I made 7,000 rounds in under 8 hours, taking breaks on the Xl750. This is a serious machine

That thing is awesome, but a bit outside my pay scale. I was about to pull the trigger on a Rock Chucked but cannot find primers anywhere so I don’t see the point. Awesome video and thank you for sharing all that knowledge brother!!!

I am so far behind with my own reloading it’s crazy. I really need to load some 30-06 and 6.5 But time hasn’t been on my side. We will get there though thanks for watching.

Not sure if you misspoke, but annealing should be done BEFORE sizing.

@@SquatchReloaded Widely? I've never once heard of anyone being a proponent of annealing after sizing. That simply makes zero metallurgical sense. Sorry, but the people that would debate annealing brass after sizing simply don't know what they don't know. Hint: There's literally no one in the competitive precision rifle community that would do so. 😉

Another great video!! Would you care to expound on your lubrication, both on your CP for resize and for the necks when running your mandrel on the 750? I believe you used to use the brass juice, correct? When I use a mandrel on my single stage, I use powdered graphite. I feel like that would take away from the process of the 750.

I use “squatch lube” when I process on the CP for sizing and trimming. I do not us any additional lube with the M die on the XL750

Does your crimping of the varying thickness brass affect your otherwise consistent neck tension obtained from the neck mandrel?

I run my crimp as a stand alone die. This really is key. On 9mm I aim for .378 nominal and that usually translates to .377 - .379 at the case mount. The wall thickness is irrelevant to setting the ID with the mandrel die and properly sets the ID of the case that establishes your tension or bearing surface on the bullet.

Question for you. 750 or 1100. I do not reload alot but like to have room for growth with what ever I buy. I would like to use one press for case prep for 556 and reloading. I do have a 550 c press but not sure if I want to switch that from 9mm. What should I do.?

To do full on case prep for 556 the 1100 is the press because it allows you to swage on press. If swaging isn’t a consideration the 750 is hard to beat period.

So the bottom line is you do not have to clean up out side of brass or inside with separate prep tools , right, also why not place M-die on cp2000 this way you have a extra station on 750 for power sensor, have it on a stition on cp2000 the M-die
