My school, one that I've been going to for the past 11 years has 6 floors, and installed lifts only 4 yrs ago. My class until the 1st grade was on the 1st floor, then on 3rd floor til the 5th grade, and now has been on the 6th floor for the past 5 years. But the thing is, I hardly ever got to use the lifts. They were usually crowded with my other classmates, and our teachers weren't really cool with students using the lifts. So, I've been climbing up and down six flights of stairs 2 times a day (1 time with a heavy schoolbag, the other empty-handed, to get to the canteen), 5 days a week for 5 years now. I hardly do any other workouts XD. Now, this video popped up in my recommendations. I thought to myself, "You've been sitting on your arse since this whole Coronavirus business started, why don't you follow along?" so I did. I had my dad's dumbbells lying around in the house anyway. And guess what!!! I got to level 70! Managed the Karate just fine, but I struggled a bit with the Shaolin and the unassisted pistols (my poor ankles...). Still, I never thought that I would have managed that. (Well, what do you know? I guess taking the stairs does pay off, lol) Also, you've convinced this girl to finally get back into fitness after 3 long years! Thanks for the confidence boost, and the motivation! :)

Literally yes. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm overweight as well. Consider doing some internet searches about how detrimental obesity is on the skeletal system. People who are very obese (increasingly so with increasing level of obesity,) almost always end up with terrible, painful, eventually expensive skeletal and joint problems (especially in the knees and ankles,) not only because the human skeleton just isn't evolve to carry that much weight constantly, but the extra weight can actually erode the cartilage in your joints leading to extremely painful bone-on-bone joint movement. These kinds of problems are the ones you don't want to have. It's good motivation for healthy dietary changes and increased movement. It's exceptionally difficult to start doing if it's never been your thing, but the thing you have to keep in mind is that it isn't impossible. Achieving activity feels 10,000x more satisfying than giving in to the desire to be sedentary.

I would say that level 1 squat would be assisted squat :) Also, for total beginner, who has no balance and is not able to find the right center of the foot, doing squats against a corner of the wall or a pole is very helpful. That's how I have progressed from assisted squat to assisted pistol squat that I am doing today :)

Actually weighted pistol squat is "easier" than normal pistol squat. Since weights help you with balance...

Yes and no. Weighted pistols are normally "easier" because of how the weight is held. By holding the weight out in front of you it acts as a coutnerbalance making it easier to balance. That is also why he mentioned a behind the back pistol as harder than a normal pistol it shifts the weight back making balance harder. With his weighted pistols he was holding the weight in line with his centerline so they weren't providing counterbalance. He just had the added weight meaning his legs needed to lift more so harder.

That’s seems weird... Because I can finish 1 set of 12 reps without any difficulty but when I add weights like 10kg my one working leg gives out before I get to reach 12 maybe around 6-8 only. So it doesn’t make sense to me how added weight is much easier compared to no weights.

Thats stupid. With how much weight? Maybe for some people its easier with 1-5kg 2-12 lbs but if you go 10+kg 22+lbs there is no way you will be able to do more reps.

@@fungusjoe5005 I dunno if my advice helps much since I never really had a problem with balancing/pistols but just train balancing on one leg. To make that harder, do it whilst looking in the air, then with closed eyes, with closed eyes whilst "looking" in the air and with closed eyes on a pillow or something like that. Also do the assisted pistols with only as little support as you need and work primarily with your legs.

I had the exact same issue, work on ankle mobility. Stretch out the ankle every night before bed, in 2 weeks I went from 0 to 6 pistol squats on my left leg

@@fungusjoe5005 I wasnt able to do pistols at first, then I tried them with shoes on and did those for a while als nie i can do them without shoes aswell even though i still struggle with balance a little bit but it definitely helped
