@@mauro5831 Yeah I agree he didn't enjoy what he did, but he did start off in massive debt of his own doing, put his mom's shop and home up for collateral, and was brutal in the game. He couldn't handle all the pressures of living up to others' high expectations, so he self sabotaged until he ended up a wanted man. He's a very well written character because even though he did horrible things, we understand why he acted the way he did. Sang-Woo is an integral part of the series!

Sangwoo wasn't really obsessed with winning the game (well not completely) but he couldn't live with the kind of person he'd turned into. Besides that he was suicidal. Also, his mom needed that money. So this was his way of redeeming himself

Think you guys completely missed the concept of Gi-hun wanting to call them at the end. He wants to put an end to the mass killings. Just think in 1 single game they killed 455 people. And from the files we saw that theres multiple games even per year. Hes not trying to go back to the game or get himself killed, hes determined to give anything and everything to ending the senseless killing which is admirable for someone to selflessly attempt such a huge task instead of pretending it never happened and live a happy life while people continue to die by the hundreds.

When Gi-hun asked for chocolate milk as he doesn't like drinking regular milk, Il-nam said he must be troublesome for his dad and he has a son just like that. When Gi-hun was talking about the strike that happened at the car company he was working at, Il-nam knew what he was talking about. When they were in the set for the marble game, Gi-hun remembers playing in a neighborhood similar to what Il-nam claims to live in a long time ago. When Il-nam wet his pants and Gi-hun tied his jacket around Il-nam's waist, Il-nam reciprocated by giving Gi-hun his number 1 jacket. Perhaps this is a sign to the Front Man to allow Gi-hun to proceed to the finals.

I'm a Korean who enjoyed watching the squid game. Please understand that I am not good at English because I am writing with a translator. The reason why Ki-hoon decided to participate in the game again may be that they continue to track down the winners (survivors). Because if their pursuit is not over, his freedom and daughter's safety cannot be guaranteed. I think season 2 will be a prequel that deals with the past of Hwang In-ho (frontman) and Oh Il-nam, and season 3 will be a confrontation between In-ho and Ki-hoon, who participated in the game again. If In-ho also chose to be a frontman for the same purpose as Ki-hoon, he may eventually cooperate.

In most Korean communities regard Ki-hoon as a hypocrite (basically, he is good. However, he deceived the old man to death in marbles and stepped up at the sacrifice of other participants. As Sang-woo said, he is in charge of the dirty things, and Ki-hoon only acted like a good man, gathering failures, throwing them into extreme environments, and forcing them to play murder games. In the end, he couldn't even save his critical mother) and thought Sang-woo was a much more realistic and well-made character. All of his principles of action are grounded and if he were simply a villain, he would have attacked Ki-hoon and made the last struggle in that situation, not suicide.

Not sure if anyone else picked up on it or it's just me and my thinking, but the old man telling him about how someone who has so much money that everything becomes boring to him in the end is what is becoming of Gi-hun. Not having touched his prize money. Borrowing money from people again. Living the same life he's lived still. The old man noticed this and I think wanted to impart some knowledge to him before he died to possibly show him why these games were a thing, and why Gi-hun's feeling that way too. And I think it has to do with what was said in this reaction about needing people in your life. Old man has no one left. He probably has had no one for a long time. He lost his faith in people which is why he believed that person out in the street was going to freeze to death, all alone. The ultimate pessimistic view of the world. It wasn't until Gi-hun saw that someone did call for help and it proved the old man wrong did he begin to make the change in his life. I started to think that this was a pretty typical plot twist ending like, oh look, the old man was in on it all along and he's actually bad. But it's so much more. He didn't have to reveal anything. He probably wasn't ever going to. But a year of no change and prize money sitting in that account probably piqued his interest and so he decided to 'play' one more game with his gganbu.

The front man seems to have gotten close to Player 01 as he was the person to close player 1's eyes when he died. The theories I could think of why he became the front man is he played with Player 01 during the games, he's related to player 01, or after winning the game he became somewhat like Gi hun, remember he was living a modest life like small apartment and stuff, but wanted to help continue the games to give another chance to people like him drowning in debt and Il-nam gave him that chance. One thing I noticed as well is when the front man and Gi hun was talking after the final game, he said "just think of it as a dream...it wasn't really a bad one for you"...I think it implies when the front man played the games he's most likely became savage and killed a lot of people to win it all like Sang woo.

The Front Man won the games in 2015 and just as Gi-hun, he may still have problems even acknowledging the win years later (maybe this will explain why he was living where he was, when his police officer brother went looking for him). As we know, he received a call card similar to the one Gi-hun received well after the games. Perhaps he had difficulty adjusting to life outside the island, they have been tormented by the games that when he was offered to come back, he accepted it.

if you should ask me, i'd say, sang-woo is the man. suppose he shook hand with gi-hun and they just walked away back to reality, gi-huh's left hand is wounded now, and loan sharks are waitign for him, mom's dead already, plus, sang-woo has 6 billion won in debt, which is like 6 million dollars, roughly. sang-woo's mom will lose her shop and her house, and yet, probably will try to get him out of prison, and visiting him in prison, etc, out of her small pocket, basically she'll do everything she could. but sang-woo have to stay in jail minimum 10 years, according to squid game analysis. it will be hell again. even after he got out, he won't be able to find a decent job, cause he's a criminal, and his mom will be pretty old now, and sang-woo, too however, since this great man, the alumna of SNU, business major, made a very smart decision of committing a suicide, at least gi-hun could get out with the prize money, helping sang-woo's mom and sae-byuck's younger brother. she doesn't have to lose the house, nor her shop. she can have herself a bigger shop and sae-byuck's younger brother can take it over when she gets old and pass away. also, they could try to bring his mom from north korea, too, which will cost a lot, but not completely impossible, either. and gi-hun can go to the states to visit his daughter with some decent present for the first time in a decade. if they have settled with gi-hun's decision, who's got golden heart but no brain, both of their lives must have been back in hell again. but thanks to sang-woo's logical decision, the genius of ssang-moon dong, we can still smile, watching gi-fun changing his hair color red and so on. the only question is, whatever happened to ali's 2 year old baby and his wife. if they've already left for pakistan, almost like escaping from korea, it will be hard to track them down, but since gi-huh's got tons of money now, i don't think that's completely impossible, either. it'll take a long time but money talks so he will find them and he could help them financially. after all, it was ali who saved gi-fun in the first round. but don't forget, it was sang-woo's smart decision to commit a suicide. thank you, sang-woo. thank you. but then again, sang-woo killed ali ... that was cheap and dirty but .... i don't knows. i have no comment on that. and also with sae-byuck's death. i don't knows. i didn't graduate from SNU so ... i guess i'll never know. bah ~ don't worry about it. it was an honest mistake.

I enjoyed seeing your reactions. I found a difference between Western and Eastern viewers. Western viewers value results. "So who won?", "Why do they make such a stupid choice?" From an Asian point of view, such Western viewers sometimes feel cold and rational. On the other hand, for me, the process is more important than the result. I think the emotions and situations of the characters are important. Westerners will find me emotional and irrational. Korean actors are full of emotions. Koreans are the most emotional among Asians(Because historically, there have been many tragedies and difficult lives). Perhaps you feel that it is an excessive feeling for you.
